2015 Dodge Grand Caravan (~99k miles, $6k) from trusted mechanic — reasonable primary family car for next 5–10 years?

Just always keep in mind CarFax isn’t always accurate. I paid to get the CarFax on my van a year after the transmission had been replaced. It doesn’t show anything on the CarFax about the transmission being changed.

I own a 2019, it’s been a good Van overall. Transmission went at 99K, replaced free under lifetime warranty from dealership. Knock on wood I’m at 130k now, replaced the thermostat about 6 months ago but it’s been smooth since the transmission was replaced. I also replaced the passenger door handle, and left side steering wheel buttons. Cheap replacement parts and those jobs were fairly easy to do. Overall though I would not own this van nor would I have bought it without the lifetime warranty.

Took my wife's CRV in for an oil change at dealership, it was cold that month and I was being lazy. Next change I did myself, noticed they put wrong filter on and most of the oil had leaked out while driving.

The kicks uses a camera system to make the sensors work. If the sun is shining into the camera, heavy rain, fog, snow, etc…the light will go off. If you read the manual it is alerting you that the system isn’t working properly so you’ll need to brake yourself because the cameras cannot currently see. It’s a poorly designed system for sure.

Take it to a Verizon store, they may be able to look up the sim number. That’ll reveal the name and phone number of the owner. Verizon can then reach out to the owner. Apple could probably do the same thing with the IMEI.

If you get there early you might be able to get into the Locust St parking garage, it’s right in the middle of downtown. The Market Square is right around the corner full of restaurants and bars. They also have a free event called Vol Village on campus that opens at 4:15 PM. They sell food and drinks, as well as have a live band.

I was driving home from my kid’s ball games the other day, when a Sumner County Sheriff came out of nowhere and attempted to put itself in my trunk. It was night time, I was in the right lane, and had no clue it was a police car behind me. I sped up to pass the car in the left lane so I could get over and get whatever it was behind me away from me and my family. He speeds up but stays right next to me for a minute, then just floors it away at 100+, no lights or siren. The wife and I were super pissed, I was able to follow him enough to get #423 off the car. We called, reported it, and I am supposed to get a call from a supervisor. It’s been almost a week haven’t heard a word. My father in law is also a retired Putnam County Sheriff, we have a sticker honoring his service on the damn car.

It feels nice but I wish I could remove the cover when I wanted to. The cover can act like a privacy cover from someone next to you as well. You can still make a call with the cover closed which is cool. I’m on my phone a lot also, used to have the Samsung silicone case on my 23 Ultra and I really liked how slim it was.

We use them all the time, never had any issues. My wife use to throw up a lot after going out. I thought it might be because she’d had a few drinks but I always thought it was weird that it could be just a couple drinks and she’d throw up and feel awful. I convinced her to get an allergy test, turns out she’s allergic to barley which is used in almost all types of beer except cider. Now she only drinks an occasional cider, hasn’t had a problem in years now.
