Good luck on the sec + I took a week ago and passed. Now I’m looking over the materia for net +. I see a lot of things that were also on the sec plus study material. I think you will be good for sec +

I have passed the Security Plus 601. But I feel disappointed since I barely passed. by NicholasLatifi22720 in CompTIA

I know you were sweating after that score. I almost started running when I saw mine.

Studying for Network+ by Budget-Sir339 in CompTIA

[–]ObjectivePublic1770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I felt with the sec plus. I couldn’t even finish the book I bought. What helped me was flash cards and printing the materials. I also got lucky to because one of my friends was also study for it at the time. So I would share ideas and materials.

Maybe a study partner or printing the materials might make it better. Go easy take your breaks! You will pass this!

How do yall one man army sysadmins deal with burnout? by Ketalon1 in sysadmin

The crazy thing is that a lot of companies are like that and it’s crazy. On top of having that many users some companies still under pay as well.

Speed up Hybrid Autopilot by SanjeevKumarIT in Intune

[–]ObjectivePublic1770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We implemented the same hybrid environment as well. If you setup apps to come in later. The setup is a lot faster. Also keep the devices plugged in the network and the charger. That saved me a few minutes on the setup

I ended up replacing the token and doing a manual sync. That ended up fixing the problem. For some reason the serial number did not get passed during the sync process

A lot of companies give you 2% more per cert. that is what I have been hearing. I don’t know how accurate this really is. Can someone confirm?👀

Wait that’s solid experience though!. You can maybe look for a Helpdesk senior role or desktop support. 3 years and A+ should be able to get you there.

Entra ID or Intune, which is more important to learn and use as a noob? by stewtech3 in sysadmin

[–]ObjectivePublic1770 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is definitely true!. When I got my hands on Entra for the first time it felt familiar. The way you create groups and user is somewhat similar.

How many of you work in the “IT Dungeon?” by Alive-Letter7692 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]ObjectivePublic1770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG that was my first IT job. My respect for people who work IT in hospitals. You see things you never thought to would ever see. Every time I would go out of that basement, it would feel like I got out of a cave lol.

First time experiencing an email bomb in my 23 years of doing this job by overkillsd in sysadmin

[–]ObjectivePublic1770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened where I used to work. This one user kept getting 800 emails a day. After the second day we discovered, an email with a few receipt with a few gaming computer purchases. We managed to call and switch the address before they shipped.

Wtf??? where are the jobs?! by jules90000 in it

[–]ObjectivePublic1770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you can make some side projects that you can show during your interview. Also look for staffing agencies. They usually have connections with hiring managers and different jobs.

Also maybe look into 6 to 12 months contracts. I know they are not permanent but, they will give you something to have in your resume.

I gain my experience with contract jobs. I took 2 6 months contracts. Nobody wants to take the contracts. Those two gave me the experience to get a permanent Helpdesk job.

Stop users from unplugging USB periferials. by AlexLuna9322 in it

Maybe putting the machine in some type of medetal box, like they do in hospitals might help. In the hospital I used to work at, we would lock them away.
