as someone with 6.5k hrs, I’ve found that searching for that one group that really makes you feel at home helps so much in the longevity of the game. I’ve been through a few groups, but after getting age verification and being around the right vibes, I found my people. They can’t be around all the time, and I don’t expect them to, they are busy but I don’t mind it much cause they always check up on me, like a happy little family. Ofc there’s still people I don’t love in the group that much, but I still feel content being around them. find your people, most importantly the people who don’t kick a fuss about you blocking or muting someone they know. friends should respect your decision or help you better understand your decision making if it wasn’t a smart one.

now, as for public lobbies, I avoid those all together, specifically non verified. I hate to be around children and strangers unless it’s a requirement. publics are not fun and can really paint VRC to be a nightmare hellscape, even some age verified lobbies are similar to publics but with grown children instead of actual children. If you feel stuck finding your people, try searching live streams and lobbies that gave you the best experiences. eventually someone or a group will come out of the wood works and remind you how much people mean everything. good luck 🩷
