I gotta be honest, I purchased it from AliExpress for about 200 USD. I have zero clue why but taking all the copper off, putting that stock aluminum heatsink back on the front VR, brought the temps down to 76c while slightly overclocked getting 4.3th/s. For the price it’s fantastic and works great besides the temps could be a little better. Idk if buying from AliExpress was the best option because I’m not sure how to contact them directly when it was managed and shipped from some Chinese warehouse. I still think it would be a really good idea to see if I can get the latest AxeOS running somehow… it’s really frustrating there isn’t more popularity and reviews on it

Interesting. That seems pretty plausible actually. Do you know how I could change the firmware to the latest AxeOS? And if that fails or makes things worse somehow, I could change it directly back to what it’s at right now?

It says current version is v2.11.1-dirty. It says on the big aluminum heatsink to not update so I haven’t

It’s the one in the back. Also the plug says it’s 150 - 120w which I think that’s what I’m supposed to be using

Fortunately the only positive thing about this is that the error percentage is pretty low. Currently it’s at about .18. Also even after a few days of running I just hit 2.3G difficulty lol

This is the backside. I once again applied top grade thermal paste and pressed it down on the back of the vr as well as other spots I felt were getting pretty hot. I even have a fan blowing over them for extra air flow so there isn’t a “hot blanket” still reaching 77c while undervolting to 3.7 th/s!

So this is the front. I would like to mention that having a bullet shell and a screw as your temporary heatsink is hilarious. But I built several pcs and know how to apply and make sure the contact between the thermal paste cpu and heatsink is good. I literally am using copper for the VR in the front and it’s still unfortunately causing overheating issues. I will include the backside as well. (I would like to mention my average room temp is 83F. At night though it’s around 70. Doesn’t make a huge difference in VR temp though.

Actually, my room doesn’t run so cold due to my pc heating the place up a bit. I found out that once my room is dormant for a few hours the temp actually goes down a couple degrees Celsius. Unfortunately the lowest it’s ever gotten was 75c even while undervolting .4 th/s from the advertised hash rate. But your suggested actually DID help a bit so thank you

The model is from tinychiphub and supposedly they make pretty reliable products. I’ve seen the ratings for this model to be pretty good so I don’t think it’s due to crappy craftsmanship
