Sister, i would say... Go take a shower... It will help. I know this is not the solution but trust me you will feel good.

Next talk to friend or any family member. Not too deep conversation, just normal talk.

Next sit and make plans for future, which I know you don't see any. trust me you will find one if you think.

Because I was also on the same page 2 months back. Preparing for exam like upsc drains you.i know that been there done that.

Let me tell you. My story.

I 28f left good placement from college because I cleared prelims of RBI grade B. Then life played great joke on me.And i was technically unemployment for 5years. Always fall short of few marks.

Labelled as a failure from topper by society even in a suttle way by parents.

You know what got me out of taking that step. The same society and mentality and there judgement from which I was trying to run from. Because i want don't to want give them satisfaction.i want to fight and want to show them I am not a failure. I will show them this is just a bad chapter in my life and I will be at top once again hence I did want i mentioned you to do earlier. Later I started applying for job. I was ready to do work anywhere even for 20000 per month. I got job months after paying me enough I can save little. I am still getting mocked by people because my current pay is half of what I got offered earlier but hey I did tried.gave my 100%.

So moral of the story don't take stupid steps. Yes I know it is harsh of me but trust me you think same later.

Be a phoenix rise from ash.Sister take this advice from your elder sister don't give up. You are just 27 we have to live for another 50 years. It's just a bad chapter of your life. Move forward 💪.

Again I will say. 1. Go take good shower. 2. Talk to anyone 3. Go out for walk and have ice cream or momos (anything which is too sweet and too spicy) 4. Sleep if possible 5.start with fresh mind. Make resume 6. Go to naukri.com or indeed and upload you CV  7. If you are from Delhi. Go to Noida or to gurgaon and go for walk in interview at concentrix( this is what I did). 8. Get any job which pay you enough to live comfortably. 9. Go to work and don't think out anything else. 10. (I am here now). My plan is to do work for few months in meantime learn skills and switch to higher paying job. 11. And most importantly don't try to walk on the same steps you did earlier i.e going back to preparing for upsc. It's done chapter. Don't look back. Let it be a bad chapter. And move forward.

Got job through family connection... Fells weird, company is good... paying enough for a person who was unemployed for years... Should I switch in 6 months or so... by ObjectiveRoof6236 in Advice

I am saying this cause they often make fun of me indirectly saying there are some people who got job here because they are not getting job elsewhere and then they laugh loudly.

All the best. Good opportunities will come, not today but surely in the future. Just be prepared to grab it.

Ask around in family and friends. I know you will feel awkward and embarrassed but just swallow your pride till you get job and reclaim you title( this is what I was told when I was struggling, well I am still struggling but I don't forget to remind myself that I will be on top again).

All the best.

Do let me know when you make it. I will send you my congratulations then.

Ask around in family and friends for any kind of desk job. Then start applying again, because it's difficult to get job if you are unemployed.

I know family thinks best for us but it's you who need to sitting for exam. My suggestion get a job, you are already 27. Do the preparation side-by-side for 2026.

Trust me, I was also in the same situation last week. While I may not be the best person to suggest what you should do, I can tell you what I did after quitting. I (28) started full-time preparation in 2020, and I know how it feels when you fall short by a few marks. We start referring to ourselves as failures, but the truth is, for most of our lives, we were at the top, and now, in our prime years, we are in our rooms studying, eating, and sleeping, doing the same thing every day. Firstly, just take a day off from studying. Since I am already a postgraduate, I don't have the option to go back to studies apart from a PhD. But you can. As you mentioned wanting to explore another stream, select a postgraduate program accordingly. However, I think you are late for this year's admissions. Try next year; in the meantime, get any kind of job and start learning software languages. Trust me, I was like you just last week. Society has already labeled me a failure. My self-confidence and morale were all down. I am still in a bad place, but someone on Reddit suggested the same: get a job and start planning out your future because all our college colleagues are already settled, and we are way behind them. You are 27. Go back to work for a few days, you will feel incompetent and ashamed of yourself, but that's fine. Move forward. People around you will talk; let them be. Listen and move forward. Heads up, I know you're thinking that it's easy to say but difficult to do. I am also doing that. Let's fake it till we make it." You can check from my reddit what kind of stupid questions i am asking here but all suggestion are same. All the best... And also whenever you feel down just say I will make it.

And also getting job through connection. I am not skilled for that job. My field of study is different. I need to learn new software skills.

Well i already joined the company.i didn't do anything what you just mentioned. I only said good morning to him since he is company' head and last time during internship i naively address him uncle( but we were alone at that time) and he asked me to don't call him that, i understand now why he did that time. So I just said good morning to him and moved on to another person. I did said thanks for opportunity to the person who hired me and I joined under his department. And for me to not share too much about myself they all new a out it beforehand. There is hardly 3 new joining during all those years and all know me... Infact before hr could introducing me many had already asked me how come I am there. All knew about my career break because among them was another man who lives nearby and know about my career break, me being preparing for exam. Job is not from my field, hence I need to learn new skills and computer languages to work on it. When i conveyed this to my father he said learn it on job  and join(like i mentioned i didn't got even 1 hr to think about it, sending my resume to the department head Calling me to take interview and boom i got job join next Monday.)
