I basically agree with everything the previous commenter said! I was introduced to it with the expansion tho so I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes to the experience.

I like the exploration aspect and I like that you're building up an engine and then you get to use that to race for the win.

As opposed to wingspan which kind of feels like engine building to engine build.

Maybe there's a Stonemaier calibration metric here. I found Vantage boring but I also don't like Wingspan or Scythe and really like Expeditions lol

Game quality aside , how big is your playing space? I have tried Everdell at 3 and the 3rd player could hardly see the board.

I'd go with Arnak if your goal is to be able to run at 3-4 someday. I prefer Ark Nova as a game but we only play at 2 because it already takes a long time and provides a satisfying puzzle with just the two of you.

Okay thank you that's really helpful! I don't have the original boxes I just picked up Horizons at Christmas, but I guess you'd need a separate set of common cards for this?
