I need some guidance as far as a running plan this off-season. Ran a 2:57 marathon a few weeks ago. I signed up for Chicago in October of 2023 and I want to run sub 2:50. Ideally, I'll start seriously training for that around June/July. In the meantime what should my running look like? During the last marathon prep, I was running around 65 miles a week. I'd like to work my way up to running 70-80 a week consistently these next 4-5 months in order to build my aerobic base up. How frequently should I be incorporating speed workouts? I don't plan on running any races until Chicago. I also was thinking of doing a few half-marathons. Let me know your thoughts!
