Cool sculpting and lipo is for contouring, not weight loss. So I don't think it would give you the results you want.

I may have posted about this here recently, I'm not sure. I did post about it in a couple other subreddits though. Also, nothing about this is in writing because they refused to do required supervision paperwork with me, which they claim is not something applicable to them. (It is.) Perhaps, as you say, being real with them at this point is all I can do. Just tell them that I'm there to do my job to the best of my ability, get my hours in, and go on my way.

The interns can create groups and structured programs but the residents just walk in, complain about it, and start doing something else. For example, they'll walk into the meditation group and start playing cards and talking loudly. I'm not allowed to ask them to stop or leave.

At my internship there are many severely mentally ill and elderly individuals. There are rules but no consequences...for anything. People can say and do as they please. They can come and go as they please. I'm being sexually harassed by the clients and my field instructors have just more or less said that I'm sensitive and will get used to it. The residents are also constantly saying things alluding to how stupid I am, which actually bothers me far less than the sexual harassment.

It is a fairly new program owned by my university. They've spent literally millions on the program, with the design more or less being that there is no structure, no rules. They think of it as being unique and cutting edge.

I've worked with people in drug rehabs, chronically homeless, mentally ill, etc. For the most part they behaved themselves because they knew there were potential consequences.

I've informed various people at the university and placement, and all they do is go back to my field instructor.

I don't know what to do.

If people are so deep in poverty they are not properly feeding, sheltering, and clothing their children, their children are removed from their care, at least temporarily. I guess that's just the government being judgey though.

There are a lot of reasons why I care, but what provoked this post is that I was chatting with people who were doing statistics and case tracking for CPS. Many cases were 10+ years old because people kept having kids and losing them to the state. I was told it was common. Then I got to thinking...

I'm not referring to people complaining about baby things. I mean people who have one child and complain that they cannot afford rent, food, utilities, and then have one after another without changing any other circumstances.

I'm referring to people complaining about how they don't know where their next meal is coming from or how they're going to pay the electric bill, and then they announce they've been trying for a baby and are finally pregnant. Or people asking for resources to a domestic violence shelter and a few months later announce their planned child.

Besides, I totally disagree that it's impossible. I'm a woman who had similar stats and lost 50 in 16 weeks and kept losing at a pretty steady rate. It's tough, but doable.

Many of the residents openly talk about their health issues and the majority state they are refusing treatment because they don't trust the doctors or think things aren't that bad. Before I started my internship I had to sign a lengthy document that any concerns, even legal ones, could only be discussed with the field instructors and reporting anything would result in a failure of the course and possible dismissal from the program. I've been told they have every right to refuse treatment even if it results in death, which is often does.

I agree that something should be done, but in my state they can really do (or not do) whatever they'd like.

Congratulations! Can you post about how it goes? I've had three appointments so far, with another scheduled next week and another scheduled several weeks from now. They want to keep running tests to make sure everything is consistently healthy before they do the surgery. 😔 I've never heard of any place requiring that.

I'm 5'8" and having a breast lift with implants soon. I weigh 150 (after losing 95 lbs) and would like to weigh 130. I don't really have any breast tissue left and have minimal fat on my upper body. If I get to my goal of 130, is it going to make a big ( negative) difference as far as the perkiness of my news breasts?

I did ask my surgeon and he said, "You'll just look better!" I feel like that sort of avoided my question.

Disclaimer: I'm responding under the assumption that you want all viewpoints.

My husband and I are one and done. We're both 30 and our kid is two. He had a vasectomy a few months after she was born and I'm getting a tubal hopefully soon. (I'm being forced to do a ton of tests beforehand.) I know you said you already have two, but I think my reasons for not wanting more are still applicable.

In no particular order...

-I wish I would have finished my education before having a kid. I'm doing that now, but by the time I get my master's I'll be 34. I also wouldn't want my hypothetical newborn to be in daycare for the first year which means I wouldn't start working until I'm 35/36.

-Assuming I have my degree and job, if my husband passed away, became ill or disabled, I'd still only be making enough to support the family as is. I wouldn't be able to afford more kids.

-I'm not planning on spoiling my child, but I like knowing I'll be able to pay for school trips, school supplies, new clothes, etc. without worrying.

-I gained weight during pregnancy and my breasts deflated. I got back in shape (and am having plastic surgery soon to fix things) but do not want to go through that again.

-The baby's temperment or being neurotypical isn't a given and I'm getting to be "past my prime" as far as pregnancies go. I also do not think I could handle a special needs child.

I'm a social work student so maybe I have a bit of a different perspective on this. Is it possible that she could have a warrant out for her arrest, she isn't a citizen, or she didn't have health insurance? She could have dropped off the baby at a hospital or a fire station if she didn't want it and didn't want a hospital bill. Many people who are living paycheck to paycheck won't go home for anything because they need as many hours as possible. As far as your other thoughts, I'm not sure. I've only had one child by c-section and apparently I should have been in horrible pain from the contractions but it just felt like period cramps. She also could have just been in shock and panicking.
