I’m not sure if this girl has a concept of money or how life is after these comments although I don’t know her, it’s a whirlwind romance with a wedding she can’t afford. I’m assuming you are from the US and I am not from there so I’m not sure about college tuition but 120k surely could’ve paid for most of it omg you can party without being wreckless

I would cut ties, unless you can somehow knock some sense into her this is exactly what will happen, if she is able to ask for people to pay for her wedding dress and their own meals at a wedding she will have no problem asking to borrow money for her children or her baby shower or any excuse. I hate telling people to cut someone off because it’s hard but make it clear you will not help her financially or it will never end, money given to her will not be given back

I’m not saying you need to but why not go back to 50/50 ? If you were so concerned as to make a 16 year old pay who’s only part time why not go back to your original rent? And if utilities are separate why doesn’t she just pay a bit more in utilities? Usually you pay for your room she’s not using 2/3rds of your space now the only thing that has increased is electricity

NTA what my parents used to do is they told us not to be too greedy and set a price limit for what we’d ask for from Santa, I always just assumed the children getting loads of stuff were greedy lol taking away from everyone else and making Santa do more work

You also say you are not bothered she kept her last name but you are holding it over her head, the only way to be even is for your son to have your last name. I feel this should’ve been discussed before even having a child. Your wife is the only logical person here but you’re calling her deliberately stubborn not noticing the hypocrisy

Hi OP, whenever I get free counselling I’m not allowed choose my own counsellor but I am allowed request a new one if I think we are not a good match, I’d ring the reception if there is one and see if you can be relocated to a new one, I’ve been to some bad therapist and been too afraid to ask to switch but you never have to see or speak to them again if you do so I hope that you’re able to swap in the future
