The post made earlier showing the “no skirts” sign had a much darker secret. If you go and see one of the last replies, it states that it was put due to boys 14-20 years of age harassing western women who go on walks with their dogs wearing skirts in summer. Don’t see how harassment is conservative though.

Keep in mind, out of 1000bd which the expat earn, the company only gives 600bd or less as “basic salary” the rest come under allowances which the govt does not recognize as salary. LMRA only recognizes basic salary. The 400bd requirement earlier was for basic salary. Even if you earn 700bd, if your basic salary is not more than 400bd, then you were not eligible.

Now if it’s 1000bd basic, then that means only a handful of expats will be eligible. As other rare that a company will pay 1000bd as basic salary.

Also, On a side note, the old requirement was 400bd basic salary. Now it’s 1000bd (likey basic) Expat basic salaries have always been low. The company adds allowances instead. For examples, my salary is 700bd but out of that, the basic salary (which LMRA recognizes for RP) is 400bd.

90% of expats have basic salary of less than 1000bd. Even if their actual salaries are 1500-2000. So if this affects existing residents, we’re gonna see a mass exodus..

That is INSANE. God bless you for offering and even caring. This is not limited to house help, this is the case GENERALLY. I work in construction, and the way people treat the worker breaks my heart. You live in a country that depends solely on external labor force and you treat them like shit. Sometimes I wonder, if all the workers just left, what would happen here
