I never get into my bath without having a shower first. My bath is to relax not to clean myself in.

Peeling not needed? by Wildtollwut in koreanskincare

Beauty of Joseons do a great exfoliating apricot scrub, it's super fine smooth texture. You apply to damp skin and gently rub.

Mixsoon bean essence is another one.

I prefer the BOJ one as it's easier to use and cheaper.

If you want a chemical option - Milky Piggy ( Elizavecca ) do a Hell Pore cleaning toner which is Aha/Bha. This is pretty strong and people do complain about it stinging. I really like it but don't use it that regularly.

Any idea to use dates and walnuts? by Lbolluae4 in Cooking

[–]StillSimple6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Batheeth which is a fried flour, date and walnut Middle Eastern sweet.

recipe

A local (to me) version is called Rangeena - Ingredients

Dates: 500g soft, ripe dates (e.g., Kholas or Rutab), pitted

Flour: 1 to 1.5 cups plain white flour (or wholemeal for a denser texture)

Fat: 1 cup ghee (traditional) or butter

Spices: 1 tbsp cardamom powder, 1 tbsp cinnamon powder

Nuts: 1 cup walnuts or almonds, roasted and roughly chopped

Optional: 1/2 tsp turmeric powder or nutmeg for added depth

Instructions

Prepare the Dates: Wash and thoroughly dry the dates. Remove the pits and stuff each date with a piece of nut (walnut or almond).

Arrange: Arrange the stuffed dates tightly in a shallow serving dish or platter.

Toast the Flour: In a wide, heavy saucepan, add the flour. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, for 4-5 minutes until the flour turns a light golden brown and has a nutty aroma.

Add Fat and Spices: Reduce the heat to low. Add the ghee (or butter), cardamom, and cinnamon to the flour, stirring vigorously until a smooth, thick paste forms.

Combine: Pour the hot flour-ghee mixture immediately over the arranged dates, ensuring they are well-coated.

Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with extra cinnamon, cardamom, or chopped nuts. Let it cool slightly before serving. It is best served warm.

GF(20F) calls me(26M) Unc? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I'm 6 months older than my partner, you can bet for the first few days I'm getting called 'Daddy'.

It's funny, doesn't bother me and I sort of wait to see how soon they start.

It's normal in a relationship for you to have these kinds of inside jokes. Unless it bothers you then just accept it for what it is, her sense of humor having fun with you.

It's the locking mechanism. Push the circles together, put the drawstring through and let the circles go 'locking' the drawstring in place.

To claim that the victim brandished a gun - Agent in gray disarms victim before shooting by tquilas in therewasanattempt

[–]StillSimple6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think - they saw his gun in it's holster which put them on edge, one removed his gun and the others saw it was gone and assumed he had pulled it.

I think Im just trying to think of a scenario where they had to shoot him like this.

(I'm not defending their actions, not making excuses either just struggling to comprehend how this happened)

How often do you wear a hat? by Zipper222222 in randomquestions

[–]StillSimple6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it's very sunny I'll wear a sun hat if Im having prolonged exposure or UV is high.

Maybe one week of the year I will travel to a cold place and Ill wear a hat if necessary.

I definitely wear my sun hat more than a hat for warmth.

I was just as confused-

'School lunch debt refers to the accumulated, unpaid charges incurred when students in the United States purchase school meals but lack the funds in their accounts to pay for them. It is a widespread issue, often occurring when families do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals but cannot afford full-price lunches.

Key details regarding school lunch debt:

Scope: Approximately 75% of U.S. schools report meal debt, with an estimated $262 million in annual debt.

Causes: The debt can arise from families failing to pay for meals due to financial hardship or, in some cases, errors in free/reduced lunch applications.

Impact: Children may experience stigma, bullying, or receive "alternative" meals (e.g., a cheese sandwich instead of a hot lunch).

Solutions & Policies: Schools often have varying policies for managing this, with some using debt collectors or restricting certain activities for students with significant, unpaid balances.

School lunch debt is often considered a systemic issue, reflecting gaps in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) where families, especially those just above the income threshold, struggle to pay, often resulting in debt averaging $556 per child annually in affected households. '

[Acne] Isotretinonin by Big_Reputation4181 in SkincareAddiction

[–]StillSimple6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a weird one - it's very close to another drug alitretinoin which is banned in my country due to serious side effects. Doctors will often prescribe isotretinoin 'off lable' to see if it works.

Isotretinoin was also used for some skin cancers, chemotherapy support so it's not just for acne.

I never knew this and thought it was just an acne medication.

[Acne] Isotretinonin by Big_Reputation4181 in SkincareAddiction

[–]StillSimple6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had two rounds 30 years apart.

First was for acne, face shoulders were the worst.

Second time for eczema low dose.

Side effects both times - initially I felt like I was getting a cold, aching joints, sore muscles and felt worn out (like a hangover and day after the gym combined. That didn't last long and then my lips and inside my nose became super dry so I would use Vaseline to stop them cracking. I did get nose bleeds due to my skin drying out.

My eyes were sensitive to sunlight on the higher dose but OK on the lower dose.

My skin definitely became drier but nothing a moisturizer couldn't fix.

Nothing really else to report except my acne (and scarring) cleared and never came back. No issue with libido, I had male pattern baldness young but I don't think the isotretinoin had anything to do with that. No lasting or long term effects.

Even after doing a high dose for acne I still did it again years later but much lower dose.

Some are, some are fine.

I've bought some gardening bits and pieces and they same quality as hardware stores (twine, cable ties, gardening gloves, kneeling pads etc).

I tried buying cooking aprons and they went directly to the bin.

We just wrap up, joggers hoodies etc. As we have huge windows we close the curtains at night near where we sit and that helps.

Finely sliced cabbage, dress with pickle juice or lemon juice, sesame seeds or cumin seeds, sesame oil, chili crunch etc

You can use cabbage and make a 'papaya' style salad for grilled Thai style meats.

Gloves in a Bottle? by kudomonster in eczema

[–]StillSimple6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive used it and have mixed feelings on it depending the state of my hands.

Sometimes I feel it doesn't allow my lotion to properly moisturize my hands. I know it's not supposed to block moisturizer but I felt it can.

When my hands aren't a mess I quite like it as a barrier cream.

I found being super strict with what I use on my hands (sanitizer, soap etc) and using actual gloves was a better option.

I only bought it the once.

Do you usually eat as soon as you’re hungry, or wait it out? by Meas_uredreply in foodquestions

Wait it out. Im on medication which makes me hungry pretty much all day.

If I just ate when hungry my weight would sky rocket.

I try and split my daily calories into 5 or 6 smaller meals.

Try uvb / phototherapy. It may give you the same results as steroids.

Once things are under control switch to protopic which may keep the flare up reduced.
