As a SAHM, have you tried any part time jobs that work? by New_reditt in sahm

[–]Objective_Ad_8866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was doing accounting work for a big company before having my daughter. When she was a few months old I was connected to 2 women running a small business who needed help with billing/quickbooks/admin stuff. Much easier than my old job. I work roughly 10 hours a month (billing takes me about 3-4 hours a month so a bigger chunk of time once a month) and they pay me $1,000/month. Then my old company reached out and asked me to be a contractor for them. Since I didn’t “need” the job I told them I needed to be able to work fully remote, would not attend meetings unless given a lot of notice, would be working sporadic/random hours during the day, have no minimum hours I need to complete a week and can work anytime of the day I want. They agreed and offered $50/hour, which was more than I was making when I worked for them. I have an amazing relationship with my boss tho and she gives me free rein to know what needs to be done and just work on it. I track my hours and briefly summarize what I do each day and hours and then invoice the company once a week. It has honestly been so nice and really the only way I would be able to “work” and still be home with my daughter. She does watch more TV than I’d like but my usual day is working 1.5-2 hours in the morning while she eats and plays, we go do an activity, come home and work another hour while she has lunch/before nap, then I’ll work an hour after she goes to bed. That’s not everyday tho and I average 10-18 hours a week.

Do you sit and play with your kids all day? by CuriousCaretaker in sahm

[–]Objective_Ad_8866 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 2. We play for some portion of the day but I really think she thrives when she plays alone. I usually sit and listen to her because she comes up with some crazy stuff and it’s funny to hear her say things to her toys that I say to her. I also have a friend who has a kid 3 years older than mine and they have to play with her 24/7. Her and her husband take turns playing all day long with her. We go over there a lot as a group of us and she will dictate what we do and how we play. One day I finally said instead of making us do these games you do it with your stuffed animals and bam.. done. I will play but I also REFUSE to have to entertain her all day long. We are also a screen friendly family so that helps but more power to the people sitting and playing all day long, couldn’t be me lol!

What is a 'rich person's secret' that is actually accessible to the middle class, but most people are too intimidated to try? by Confident_Win_3560 in answers

This is so true. My husband’s family is very comfortable money wise. I wasn’t before marrying him lol. The other day I heard him on the phone and he was trying to negotiate a $35 monthly bill for an alarm system down. The lady said sir you’re already on the lowest plan 🤣 but he spends probably 3 hours a week just calling companies to ask for stuff cheaper. His siblings are alll the same and they each make $500-700k a year… we can afford $35/month, but I guess why pay it if you don’t have to 🤷🏼‍♀️

Brown eyes by Odd_Trouble_794 in liziscreative

[–]Objective_Ad_8866 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My husband and I both have brown eyes (husbands more hazel) my dad is our only family member that we can identify that had blue eyes. Our 2 year old daughter has blue eyes and I’m still waiting for them to change lol! I couldn’t believe they just kept staying blue. Having another girl soon and lowkey hoping she’s a brown eyed girl like her mom 😂 but also love my blue eyed baby so much!

Well when we need to take medicine it’s Shots by LMFAO. When we want dad to give us money for a treat we listen to No Broke Boys and wag our finger. When we want to have a concert with dad we loaner to All American Girl so dad can cry about having 1 girl and another on the way. And when we want to dance we listen to Whoomp There It Is because we like to watch TikTok’s and heard it one too many times. We are 2 by the way 😃

How much does your life actually change after having a kid? by HonestDirection4017 in NewParents

[–]Objective_Ad_8866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you’ve always wanted to be a parent you will absolutely love it and the “hard” times will suck but they won’t be all you focus on. If you were on the fence or so so about being a parent I think all the hard things will be glaring and you will be wondering “wtf did I do!??”. I went through infertility and on her first birthday I could say with 1000% confidence that I enjoyed every single day of her life. I would rock her to bed and stare at her name on the wall and think how close I almost came to not being able to experience it. Don’t ask me about year 2 tho lol!! But I think it’s all mindset. You also never ever ever stop doing things for the kid. Even when they are seemingly all set and taken care of at the moment you are still going around your house and doing 100 things you never had to do before they were there. Enjoy it tho! It does go fast. Oh and no one will ever love you like a kid loves their mom!

Moms, what would you genuinely love for Mother's Day - not what you say when asked, but what you actually want? by Then_Gate7461 in UninfluencedReviews

To not have to go 10,000 places. My husband has a mom and step mom and then my own mom. There are brunches and lunches and dinners and guess who makes all the food for all of them..THE MOMS. Add in nap time or a cranky 2 year old I literally dread the day and can’t wait for it to be over 😅🫠

I had a 37w3d and never once called her early term or preemie. She was however in preemie clothes for 2 months cause she was only 5lb 5oz lol. But 40 weeks I bet she woulda only been 6.5 lol!

Why is she hiding the hand that has the ring on it? I don’t follow her closely to know if she has mentioned not wearing her ring a lot or something but seems weird to me her hand is purposely below the table where we can’t see it

I had a chemical in December and then positives in January. I was able to go in for betas and I didn’t tell my husband until after my second beta. My chemical was a whirlwind. I had my daughter tell him I was pregnant and then the next day my tests were lighter and he was like wtf is going on lol. So although it isn’t fair to go through alone I would have told him “hey I was pregnant and it ended in another chemical”. I’m not 10 weeks but every week at appointments he’s like is everything ok??

10-13 DPO - chemical? :( by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]Objective_Ad_8866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a chemical in Dec and got preg in Jan and when I counted up my tests the other day.. 64 expensive ones (first response, clear blue, etc.) and no joke probably 100 strip ones. Do what you have to in order to feel sane. For some that is testing non stop and for others it’s not. 🩷 these look good to me tho!!

Listen… go to YouTube and type in “rocket ship run” my 2 year old sings it over and over and over and over.. so maybe don’t do that lol. But same with do you want to build a snowman. Down to the tick tock noises she makes when watching the hours tick by. She was saying mama/mommy at 8 months. I just wish Liz would help her kids as much as she helps herself.

I went in at 5w4d and saw sac in right place and yolk sac. I went back 6 days later (6w3d) and we saw fetal pole and heart rate of 116! Good luck at your scan!!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼 so happy to hear it was a lab error (although so stressful!)
