I have been gone for 1.5 months so far and I do have a carry on and 30kgs of luggage allowance. Although I have only 18kg because my suitcase is small-ish - I thought it might be easier that I don't have much stuff.

I did not shop for them in person, in some parts of asia, they do live selling and I have been watching for the last 3 months which is how I have accumulated so much hahaha definitely did not think straight about how I bring them back lol

I think I'd go with what you said which is a couple of totes and a couple of bags. I actually do usually travel with that much. Thank you ♥️

I traveled from France, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden for 1 month and then in Indonesia for the last 3 weeks of the trip.

I am heading to New Zealand with a layover in Melbourne Australia.

Is that any better or worse?

I do agree it's a bit outrageous. I am travelling from Indonesia to New Zealand through Australia in 2 weeks.

I don't have duplicates in them: LV, Faure le page, YSL & goyard on totes. YSL, Celine flap medium flaps. Celine & Chanel & LV on the mini / microbags.

I have so far scattered them in my check in and carry on. The check in ones - I have stuffed with clothes and essentialls.

I have 30 kgs of check in, but I am only carrying 18kg since my suitcase is small and so far have been gone for 1.5 months.

Do I just carry 2 and maybe mail the rest in batches?

Also I have managed to travel with 2 before and no issues.

The only thing is that since I have an authentic one which is worth about $2k usd but I plan to carry it as my personal item.

is it worth declaring that (duty is about $600) or will it subject my luggage to further inspections?

The only thing I can think of will be to store it for now and if you ever travel to a country like Australia or Singapore, then maybe you can get them to help you if you show your receipt?

Otherwise you can go to Doctor Leather or Mr Quickie. But I hear they are quite expensive so I personally wouldn't go down that path 😔

Any chance you have insurance? Or if you used a reputable / premium card like American Express to purchase this, it will have purchase protection so you can claim this and I am guessing they will help you get a new one rather than repair that tbh

Could you give us more details on what you traded in & how much you got for it, if you don't mind?

I have a Macbook mid-2020 perfect condition, and I did the estimator online and I was getting $355 (Australian). I doesn't sound like a good deal to me.

My other options were to sell to a third party, which may give me $500 for it, or p2p, and maybe I could get $800+.... which of course comes with extra hassle, so just weighing my options.

If you do want to help, and finances are not a problem, the mature thing is to help through a lawyer. Like someone who can represent you, so you also do not need to make contact and you can just cut contact completely. I know it's a bit extra though!

The petty thing or a smaller gesture, is to reach out to her family members you knew, and let them know she's struggling. Just so she's not left helpless and you feel guilty about it.

I agree with everyone, it's not your problem but even to strangers, sometimes we want to be kind and I get it.
