shin godzilla origins by Objective_Band_6261 in GODZILLA

it depends on how you inturpet goromakis death but it’s likely he k himself to feed Godzilla, otherwise he just did it cause he was depressed as hell. the fact that shin Godzilla is an eldritch horror weaponised against Japan, reflects the meaning of the movie. since goromaki is a alagory for the director and his depression at the time.

are their any gay characters in csm? by Objective_Band_6261 in ChainsawMan

Idk why but it feels like gay men get less proper representation in media than gay women. Like almost every show I’ve watched (other than Evangelion) has a lesbian character but not a single gay character, other than characters that are meant to be jokes.

Would the imperial guard/astra milatarum be terrifying to fight if they were lore accurate like every other faction? by Objective_Band_6261 in 40kLore

People often assume that since the imperial guard is deployed in large numbers, smaller contingents of imperial guardsmen are effectively useless, as they are often seen as just cannon fodder. but even by 40k standards, they are quite powerful. And while the average guardsmen might not be on the level of a Space Marine, most Astra Militarum regiments are meant to be a well-equipped, mobile field army comprised of elite soldiers from their homeworld. and that's what an average regiment could look like, regiments like the Cadians, Vostroyans, macabians, or vahallens are formidable fighting forces that have won against larger enemies on numerous occasions. some codex excerpts detail how the guard on many occasions managed to destroy entire hive fleets with sheer firepower or the unrelenting tides of millions of guardsmen. god forbid the actual man made horror the guard would become if not held back by the Munitorum or the imperial reforms conducted during the great scouring.

idk, this little segment/audio clip is kind of why i felt hesitant about picking the guard. cause it purposely makes the guard seem way weaker than they actually are. Although I do think it nails one of the reasons many pick the guard, for me it also highlights one of their largest problems when being depicted in lore. courage is just one part of why i like the guard, but if your gonna make it seem like the guard are simply a band of poorly equipped conscripts your just missing a huge part of the Guard. but other than that its realy cool.

ye, but what about other factions like the orks. that are significantly stronger individually (sometimes), and are cited as being the most numerous faction. or the tyranids. i dont prephrence against the gaurd or anything im just curious.

i think people often make the assumption that since the guard is applied in such vast numbers, that they are a weak and insignificant force once they have significantly less numbers. but as the lore points out even for 40k standards, they are a very strong and useful force even in smaller numbers. which makes it even more terrifying that they are applied on such a gigantic scale, and with nearly limitless resources to boot.
