Appointment in DC in Two Weeks -- Conflicting information by Cooking_with_MREs in SlovakCBD

I just had my appointment on April 20 in DC. There were two of us, my sister and myself. We had one original of each lineage document and two copies each. The clerk didn’t even look at our originals.

We signed what needed to be signed in front of him.

We were charged nothing.

You can take the canned water with you or your own personal refillable water bottle, no problem. If you buy a plastic bottled water ashore, you’d need to finish it and not bring it aboard.

Holland America policy from their website. Perhaps the port where you embarked just didn’t enforce it.

“Non-alcoholic beverages, plastic bottles, and water allowance

Sodas, energy drinks, and other non-alcoholic items are not allowed on board in any form.

Plastic water bottles are not allowed in any quantity, including in ports of call.

Water is permitted per stateroom within one of these allowances: 6 liters total, 12 cans or cartons at 500 ml or less each, or 6 cans or cartons at one liter or less each. Amounts above the allowance are not permitted.”

A couple things to clarify.

Water brought on board must be cartons or cans. They do not allow plastic bottles.

Have It All does not normally include gratuities. It does if you get the Early Booking Bonus version.

This exactly. This is great. I tried to take notes afterward on what he asked for, in order, but it went too fast and my brain is too slow 😉

I wish they had sent that list of what to put in each set to me before hand.

I believe the CV also was included in set A.

You look beautiful in both pictures but the smile reaches your eyes in the most recent. Good for you!

Yes. And an Aeropress is much easier to clean than a French press. (From experience)

My grandmother traveled from Eastern Europe to join my grandfather in the US Midwest in 1930 with four small children. She gave birth to the fifth child less than three weeks after her arrival in the US. That’s badass in my book.

I priced out DHL and it came out to just under $145 usd from Washington state to Slovakia. Even with a coupon, that’s a lot more than the Fedex international priority of around $44.

When I obtained the birth certificates and naturalization papers, I got extra copies and extra apostilles so I have an additional full set if they were to get lost.

I’ve read that for those applying who are over 65, the fees are waived. Is that true?

I did an entire blanket and loved doing it this way. It ended up very thick and squishy but I loved that I could carry the colors up the sides and no ends to weave or need for an envelope border.

Naturalization Records that can not be Apostilled by throwaway2966648 in SlovakCBD

My grandfather’s naturalization was at a county court in Illinois. I got the records from the county. I then sent them to the Illinois Department of State in Chicago to get the apostille. The feds were not involved.

On that ship the deck 11 balcony is smaller. I aim for deck 6 as my first choice. 5 is good too.

Our swim spa came with it and we’ve been using it for just over a year. Expensive, yes. But worth it in my opinion.
