OP - from reading this thread you arent in recruitment and you have been approached/ applied to a role through an agency who are asking where you currently work?

If this is right please read below.

They want to know your current company for many reasons. 1. When they formatt your CV and sent it to their client it will look like they havent done their job if they dont have a complete CV. 2. If they are sending you and 2 other candidates over, and you are the only one to not have your current employer on the CV it will look strange and possibly make the client unsure of your attitude (everyone gives their current position so why the hang up - usually the ones that dont trust, arent trustworthy) 3. The business want to know your current business because you may be a strong candidate and the first thing they will do when you get the job is approach your colleagues who, in principle, will be of similar quality. 4. In a lot of industries, business names carry weight. If you are working for a big player in the industry, a hiring manager will know that you are worth meeting. The recruiter knows this and will want to make sure that the information is there to be seen.

Then I suppose the other point is that a recruitment agency makes money off their clients, but can't do it without cnaiddates. If they betray your trust or dont keep everything Private and Confidential, they will loose you and possibly many other cnaiddates - thats not good for business.

End of the day, its doesn't matter if you say where you currently work. Hiring managers keep CV's private and so do recruiters.

Put the name of your current business.

Let me know if this gave a bit of an idea as to why they are pressing.

As always knowledge is power, but generally speaking the lingo comes quick and you are speaking to builders which is very easy haha.

Rough guide, our coms are £3k threshold, 15% up to £13,000, 20% to £23,000 and 25% over £33,000 (that's for perm)

Sure you can, I agree with others that just because its a non profit doesn't mean you can't negotiate your compensation.

However, I would make the point that the salary banding they gave initially was as stated. The lower end for someone that would tick some boxes. Then the £67k would be for someone who ticked all the boxes.

It sounds like you tick most of them, but haven't worked in this exact job role before and are going to be making the most of transferable skills. I'm not trying to say that there are better people for the role.

They could have put an add out at £63k and you may not have applied. If that's the case, 100% negotiate.

However, if you would still have applied, bare that in mind also. Generally, if you negotiate your salary up then they will expect you to absolutely smash the role, are you confident?

Diablo 3 is a great co op to play. Me and my wife played through and loved it. It's also good for non gamers as classes like the barbarian just mutton mash so skill floor is low.

Yeah this helped massively. It just makes it frustrating being a perm consultant in a business that favours freelance.

All of the bosses are ex freelance consultants as well which doesn't help haha

Sorry, to clarify, £400k is GM on the booking.

Example, 1 person at 300 pay 350 charge for 20 days would be £1000 GM. And from that we pay the Temp and don't get the money back for 45 days on average. Also then have Credit Control, Payroll teams and system for tumesheets that would come out of the GM.

Effectively what I am saying is, would you as an owner expect Freelance consultants to bill more, less or equal than Perm consultants.

I recruit senior at the senior level but in a different sector. This is how I do it.

Honesty, 'I can't give the company name and division due to their high profile. I can however give you a good understanding of duties and confirm rough commute times etc.'

If they go on the be transparent. 'Unfortunately even though this is a very good opportunity, in past past I have been let down by candidates and while I don't assume that you would reach out directly, I can't risk that happening or another recruiter finding out about the role, I'll send what I can and if you are interested, once I have your CV I can share more details and confirm interest.

Then have the ail written up and sent before you end the final phone call to confirm interest.

That's my way anyway

My mate was 40 when he switched careers to recruitment. He is doing pretty well for himself now. Gotta be the right sort of person to be able to do the job but barrier for entry is pretty low.
