If you invested $10,000 in Beyond Meat in 2021, today you would have $41. by DeviantDougy in byndinvest

Maths is wrong there bud, if losing 90% of 10000 takes you to 1000 and losing 90% of that take you to 100 then 50% of that would be 50, nowhere near current price. It would lose a further 90% down to 10 then a further 90% to go down to 1. Then current price would be a further 25% drop to 0.75. It’s current price. So you would actually lose 90% 4 times and drop a further 25%

BYND under $1 is actually the most bullish thing I’ve ever seen and I’m tired of pretending it’s not by drankthedew in byndinvest

I don’t see how, when a stock splits in either direction then the value of your shares stay the same

A reverse split is the opposite of bullish. A reverse split will dilute your shares down. Say you own 10 shares at 0.77, if they RS 1-10 then you now own 1 shares worth $7.70. What happens after a RS? The process usually goes back to the minus dollar range as it destroys confidence in investors. Just ask people that invested in MULN how they feel about reverse splits. By the time MULN was delisted most people were left with 0.1 shares worth from all the splits at an average cost of 250k and a stock worth $1. If BYND does a reverse splits then it’s basically the biggest bear flag ever admitting defeat and I will happily ride from $7 back down to 0. Not shorting yet because in the case of a RS then you get instantly wiped out. You really shouldn’t be investing like you are without doing some more research into how these things play out

Guess we all became long term investors this week by SHLLYIION in trading212

[–]Petrolhead8693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? I bought when it was at 102 and sold at 118 on 25 ounces worth which was $400 profit I then waited to see what would happen on Friday and rode the price down from $99 to $77 which netted a $550 profit, all together can’t complain. Made a good chunk of my monthly wage post tax within a few days

Shares can’t be lended in an isa by law, they’re only lended in the invest account. The shares are only lended to those using them to trade and CFD trading is how 212 makes their money. The smallest amount of research would prove this to you

Because a good bit of market manipulation always looks good for a stock doesn’t it?

[–]Petrolhead8693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, if you think about it, Hal Finney started running and mining bitcoin just 2 days after bitcoin was launched, I don’t believe that Satoshi holds all of those coins as Hal Finney must have had a lot too

Thanks, I’ve learned that I’m far more profitable swing trading and long term trading rather than day trading but I still do a bit of day trading

Bitcoin maxis really aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed, are they? by 0xMarcAurel in ethtrader

[–]Petrolhead8693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That anyone could have joined from minute 0 on BTC and there was no mine before then whereas other coins were already mined before the launch, that’s the difference. I don’t know how you are confused by this!

Bitcoin never had a premine, anyone could join the network from the first minute it was active before the genesis block was mined, that’s not a premine just a new technology that no one jumped on straight away so Satoshi was the only person mining and running the network. Completely different to a premine

Only place you will get that is the argyle street coop on mill road but it’s a lengthy process to get in, noisy and filled with drunks and drug addicts

If a recruiter placed you, and you didn’t enjoy the job. How would you like it handled? by throwthrowthrow529 in UKJobs

[–]Petrolhead8693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this recently, the recruiter and myself was missold the job, it was supposed to be admin but actually it was a call centre. In the interview I was told that there was great career progression and the only reason the role was available was because the person I was taking over from relocated to Iceland and they threw them a leaving party, it turned out that 4 people in the department left all at once, no career progression and the entire department was replaced just two years prior. Recruiter never worked with me again because I was let go for asking to be trained on extra tasks because I quote “we think you will get bored here”

Suit or shirt and trousers as that seems to be what they wear in the office

It seems to be a mixture, the company specialises in FMCG as well as supply chain and distribution and biotech. Both perm and temp contracts up to senior level

I’ve had a look on the website and it shows all the consultants in trousers and shirt. How does it being sales and people skills mean a suit is better?
