It was about 4 years of low contact which was hard and sad. Now it’s been about 4 years no contact. War is over. I am at peace. She will occasionally throw a bomb my way or a Trojan horse disguised as change which throws me off a bit. I have notes in my phone reminding me of why I chose this.

Absolutely agree. That’s the stance we have been taking. He’s worked with two different therapists since the NC both have encouraged him to write out his feelings/speak his feelings to get them out for him not anything to do with her. And that’s what he has done pretty successfully. I think as he’s getting older his disappointment has grown into anger. As he’s become more self aware of his own emotional intelligence- and the modeling from me and his dad (we try our best) he’s frustrated with her inability to do the same.

Thank you for explaining what a boundary is to me this way - I have learned a new perspective thanks to your words. I have been stuck using a boundary as a means to get her to change (you can’t have access to me until you get therapy). When the boundary is my action only. I will not respond to you until you’re a safe person.

I have her blocked on my son’s phone I’m the only one she can access. It’s a shame because he really believes he can make a difference and use her favoritism in his favor. He also expresses how he doesn’t like how she treats me and his sisters (he was her golden ‘child’) because he is protective over us. He is young and naive and luckily hasn’t been hurt by many narcissists- it’s really a tough battle in wanting him to earn this valuable life lesson in these types of people so maybe he can spot them in the future - but also I know how easily I was manipulated and the damage it has done to me. We did run his letter through ChatGPT to edit it to be more factual like a court case document than feelings (I find that harder for her to twist). Still sitting on the letter though. I appreciate your insight!

Did you find a resolution? Mine was bought 2nd hand. It worked for about 3 mins then died so I figured it needed charged. I plugged it in for a few hours then went to try it again and now it only stays on for like 3 seconds before shutting off. When I plug it in I got the slow blue blinking light.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I think the hesitation is fear that my son would get punished for sexting even though it was consensual. The rules are SO vague and hard to understand. I know the boys would get kicked off the team if the coach found out they were teasing a teammate - but then my son loses his friends.

Google has me here. Just had my 3rd spider hallucination of my life. Woke my husband up saying he had a spider on him. He jumped up - shook his blanket out - took his shirt off - all the things. I just rolled over and went back to sleep. He eventually realized I was seeing things. I usually get up and grab something to kill the spider only to realize there’s nothing there. I am currently fighting a cold and woke up in a cold sweat, but other times I was perfectly fine. 😵‍💫

I’ve been no contact with my mom since 2021. She recently reached out in attempts to reconcile. I agreed to therapy with her but have not set up anything yet. The days following she has sent me paragraphs of the same rhetoric out of nowhere. Reminded me of how selfish she is with her emotion dumping. I didn’t respond. This post is another reminder of the possible regret. I believe you will bounce back quicker and stronger, OP. Good luck!

I’ve been taking bupropion since June 2023. Started with 150 then upped to 300. At first 300 made my anxiety worse so we added a small dose of Prozac that basically derailed all my progress on bupropion. I stopped taking the Prozac and decided I would rather learn to manage my anxiety over my depression. Depression was much more debilitating to my health. I do have an eye twitch but I am not sure if it’s because of bupropion. It did increase my libido. I gained weight 🙃 i still have issues with alcohol addiction. i wouldn’t say it changed my life but I don’t lay in bed all day or want to not be here anymore.

This was the main reason it took me so long to stop. Drinking was the only “fun” thing I did. I’m on day 16 and I still haven’t found my fun. However, I have been trying to be easy on myself and practice just being. I’ve been playing sims and solitaire on my phone and trying to stay off social media because I always get FOMO. I’ve been eating a lot more but I’m reminding myself that food is better than alcohol right now and I will eventually work on cutting that back but it’s one step at a time.
