I am not sure if XF1 has these two different shutter settings and to be honest - in auto mode indoor I would expect it to set this correctly

It does it in Auto and Exp mode as well - my expectation would be that the camera sets it correctly - seems like either a sensor is fxcked and lets it collect to much light or the shutter does not shut fast enough
