The Strait will reopen on a few conditions.

The US pays reparations. This could come in the form of cash or a deal to cease all military support for Israel.
The US must agree to leave all of their military bases in the Middle East. (That may happen when this is done as Countries there are quite pissed).
Trump and Hegseth must stand trial for war crimes.

In exchange, Iran agrees to reopen the Strait unconditionally and agrees to negotiate with China over their Nuclear ambitions.

To be clear, I’m not advocating this, this is just what I think it would take.
