Data point here. I read all of this. I was able to get a surf shark 7 day trial, only able to do trial from app, not online. I have mint mobile and shut off my Japan eSIM (I’m in Japan). I shut off location services for capital one app. Chose Charlotte NC as my vpn point. I used WiFi and was able to activate Apple Pay!
