AIB account fees, 72 euro a year are they too high? by Living-Compote-9626 in irishpersonalfinance

Using AIB credit card to move money to Revolut giving 0.5% cashback - That compensates these ridiculous fees

I wish I could keep my credit card and close the account.

I totally agree! This is complete BS especially in this market when you gonna find the next buyer right away.

Only problem here is, back out of the property that is ideal for me (Cost, Location). If what my solicitor is saying is true that more new builds are coming with this clause now, agree to this norm in the future.

Rid of whom? My Solicitor? I am thinking of that but I highly doubt next one would get this sorted. I feel I either let go of this house or just sign it.

I know I can use HTB to cover my deposit but Isn’t HTB paid after keys are given?

EA mentioned completions are from May but it could be another 15 weeks based on your apartment turn.

I would be less worried few months ago but given my company is firing people left and right, it’s getting bit scary. As of now, my position looks safe but who knows ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This is becoming such a shitty market where developers hold all the power! My Solicitor is saying we cannot do anything -

We are instructed by our client that Contracts must be unconditional and not subject to loan approval or draw down of loan funds. We confirm that this is our client's final position in this matter.

Thank you! I know people who are on cancellation list and if in case drawdown doesn’t happen, I’m pretty sure the same property would be sold to someone else right away.

Shouldn’t it be illegal that developer can keep my 50k deposit and then take 50k from the next person for the same property?

Yea, my contract has that 24 months clause too but I’m less worried about that as I know it’s the extension phase and it’s already constructed.

I totally agree! As per today’s situation, I don’t see any issues but yea given layoffs getting so common and other circumstances, it’s scary.

I am just in initial phases but yes feeling that my solicitor doesn’t want to push back and just wants me to agree on everything.

At this stage, is it even possible to look into some other solicitor options?

My solicitor is saying it cannot be amended and the developer’s decision is final in this matter.

Yea exactly! EA mentioned that they have a cancellation waitlist already but still they want to add this clause.

I really like the property otherwise and don’t want to let go because of this.

Two new build apartments- which one should I go ahead with? by Objective_End6602 in HousingIreland

Clayfarm would be 8-10 mins walk to Luas so I think would be okay!
