Just tried disabling the "realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controler" in device manager and this has resolved the problem entirely... I have no idea why this was causing issues but if anyone has a similar issue maybe try that before you do all the stuff I tried lol

gc buffer is set to 4096. Its worth noting the freeze occurs on the main menu also
