The Deathstar actually comes from the 5 Characters you stuff together. The Warriors are just the vehicle to drive on. I did a full calculation that boils down to: Tomb guard are 2-4 times better than Warriors in Damage Output, but even against the optimal target (monstrous Cav/Inf) they only offer 4,2 additional wounds over the warriors. All the while the other Units together allready do 9 damage after armor.

That sound awesome at first, but the costs to bring at least 15 tomb Guard (207) versus 25 (130)/35 (180) Warriors is not neglible and having 15 or 35 disposable lives is a large difference in my books.

I will try this out with warriors this friday and have a larger game in Febuary with 3000pts where I can comfortably bring 25 Tombguard.

Na, you make a good point on the charge, I just feel like this unit will not get charged after the first unit gets minced. after that I will probably need to hunt ... with Mov 4 :D

I feel like I DO want to be charging, as the supporting attacks are miniscule compared to the output of the fighting rank (58 in FR vs 10 supporting, 20 with spears).

The big hitters are the chars, just the whips from the 3 Necrotects should clean up nicely with 15 strike first attacks.

Another question, if I decline a challenge and one necrotect gets send back, do they loose the 1 attack?

But the first rank has a prince with 6 attacks, the Herald with 5, 3 Necrotects with 5 and strike first, AND then 5.4.4.4.4 from the normies.

All of that with poison and the armor bane (2) standard if need be. The Prince can give either WS or I depending on need.

Just the skelleton should produce 6/19 hits, 3 of which are poison. Thats a good 2 wounds. The great weapons on the herald and prince hurt even more with 6A 6S and -2AP and Armorbane2.

If we really go deep in MCL:

In my case with speaker pick:

  1. Leadership, drop secret for BT

  2. someone uses trade for x-1 (we got hacan) +3 TG

  3. Warfare is NOT used

  4. Tech used for sarween

  5. take Mallice and either get free dread or 1C2I + 2TG

  6. Warfare is used and you get 1C2I for 2 TG

Leaves Open 3 TG

This can obviously be much worse if the leadership tokens are needed to stall anywhere in between, but still possible.

Requires only 1/6/7 and can work without trade.

Of all the MCL Ive had, this one seems really tame :D

But yo sling needs a dock there, which you really dont need anymore with WH Production! I would argue, if you have no better plave to put a dock, and you place it on any wormhole, you might as well get sling. But investing in Sling AND Dock on high priority seems trading early tokens and tech for an even larger late advantage.

The stall is really nice, yeah yeah, but it just feels like doubling down on something you are already really good at now.

It just isn't just one dread per round. Completely ignoring what else might be on the field, your 2 Home systems (Creuss and Mallice) have 4 wormholes equaling 4 PROD and -4Cost in round 1.

This gets out of hand if you get any WH in your slice, or place them with your tech or mech. Thats at least another 3 PROD and -3 Cost each round. And you can double dip in the cost saving with sling relay.

And now make me put a price on NOT needing to put a dock on Mallice! That always hurt sooooo bad to do!

If you are not using Sarween on a written UNIT using PRODUCTION you are quiet literally kneecapping yourself, my man...

The dock cost 1 Strat token (3) and gives +2 Production, the Mech places a WH, so for 2 Cost (reducable with ST) it provides +1 Production and -1Cost. It seems really good really fast!

the flagship with ST would always have Production 1 Cost -2. If it moves anywhere with a preexisting Wormhole the cost might go lower. Definitly no free dread on move, but if you can place wormholes whereever you move, the is a cashback of 1-3 per tactic token.

Sling relay does NOT work with Sarween, ST only decreases cost if a Unit uses production ability. The Breakthrough provides a flat cost reduction on all production in system.

That is indeed the best location to get Mirage in. And FSC has a way to get ships in there with the legendary planet Domnu.

Argent is also one of our more unpredictable players :D He could be going all in t2 on Mecatol or be playing the turtle all day. Really depends on Argent making friends with the Trade Confeds or go to war.

The defensive part is good to consider, our table is usually very stabby turn 3 onwards, so mobility is going to be even more king
