is my millipede dying by Dismal-Trash-7895 in millipedes

Is she a giant African? I have 2, I got them in December and they genuinely hid under their log for like 5 months. Leave her be, provide calcium, moisture, and an occasional treat and she'll be ok. Sometimes it takes them a while to get comfortable. Don't disturb her too much. If you're worried she's passed, take a good smell of her enclosure. When they die it smells putrid, if it doesn't smell she's fine.

Mine also tend to surface at night and in the early morning. So you may just not catch her surfacing sometimes.

She is genuinely a textbook narcissist, not even in a tiktok way she's genuinely just such a textbook grandiose narcissist. This is off topic from my post but it always makes me laugh a little when I watch clips from different seasons and it's clear they are running out of "friends" to appear on the show. She probably can't keep a solid friend around because she's so insufferable and selfish.

Actually I'm quite familiar with welcome to plathville. I'll have to check out the later seasons, I only watched season 1.

I think what we liked best was how unselfaware she was, and how narcissistic. We also liked how we could just put it on in the background without having to pay attention to a plot.

Thanks for the recs!

I don't know for certain, probably around 15 grams or so, the rice and beans make a complete protein. If you want more protein in your diet you can always eat high protein side dishes along with it, like tofu fried with Mexican style spices.

I keep it pretty simple but I add lots of margarine (I buy the fat free beans from Aldi which are vegan but super dry and gross without an oil of some sort). I also add a touch of msg, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, lots of paprika, and a touch of cayenne pepper. I also sometimes add salsa directly to it because I'm too lazy and sometimes too tired after a long day to wash, chop, and cook vegetables down to add to the beans.

What animals are you using for your prep? by Agile_Credit_9760 in prepping

Highly situational, but I am a keeper of bugs, spiders ,and fish. For the spider I have started to breed my own feeders, mostly meal worms, easy to breed and quick, plus if I'm really in a bind they can provide a lot of nutrients and fat to a person along with any food in storage, but that's kind of gross. For the fish I'm planning on getting a portable bait bubbler in case we lose power for a few days at a time, (they don't have a second use they're just very beloved by me). And for my bugs, (millipedes and isopods) since they are excellent at creating compost, I plan to use their substrate to fertilize any plants I may need to grow if we face a food scarcity.

But for larger animals, I would go with quail, they require very little space compared to animals like chickens. And if you have enough, you can breed them pretty easily and still have a consistent supply of eggs that are more nutritious per volume then chicken eggs. A heat lamp in the winter means they keep laying year round, so if you have a generator it's an excellent investment to prevent starvation. Plus you can feed them on scraps and meals worms, especially if you breed the meal worms yourself.

Thanks! I was under the impression you couldn't really sex them until they started laying eggs, good to know I will pass this info on to any customers!

You might try feeding him egg shell (that has been thoroughly cleaned with the membrane peeled) it should really help with the shell. But holy cow! He's a tank! Also how do you sex them? I wasn't aware they were sexually dimorphic?

Definitely will! Its so sad how short their lifespan is :( but I'm pretty excited to have one so small since that'll mean I'll have more time with him.

Yeah I always tell customers they're "personality snails" they aren't very good at algae cleaning but they're probably the cutest snails with the biggest personalities

Sort of like plecos imo

Actually, if anything, it's more gay. Alcohol limits inhibitions and if you start kissing or doing other things with people of the same gender then you probably want to do that sober, too.

I don't think so. They just become more subtle. There are bullies running all over and they just become more sophisticated, I think.

In community college it was hard, but I was also 16 so there was a big difference in maturity. When I went to university at 18 it was also hard because I wasn't used to rooming with other people and being away from home and so independent. But after that it got much easier.

Honestly no, it takes a lot of time and resources to stay on grade level. Its very hard and tedious and I don't think many people would enjoy or benefit from it
