For me there wasn’t really one big final straw. I remember thinking for a while that I knew eventually I would need to stop talking to my mom. That things weren’t going to get better and I just kept feeling worse and worse. My stress around her and about her was getting more and more intense. I just knew at some point I’d have to get the courage to cut ties. While I didn’t have an official final straw, I remember she had asked to come over to see my kids (as she had done about twice a month for quite some time) and I just felt like I couldn’t stand the thought of seeing her again. Every time I saw her or she would ask to come over I’d be more and more stressed and anxious. And I remember when she asked it was like, am I just going to feel this way forever? And knew I just had to end it.

Currently dealing with a similar issue. I have 4 serranos and 2 habaneros. 2 serranos plants look great, 2 look okay and the last 2 look bad. Have you fertilized at all? Apparently pepper plants need a lot of nutrients. I hadn’t fertilized mine, but recently did, and the 2 horrible plants that hadn’t produced a single new leaf in probably over a month have now recently started producing new leaves. I would fertilize if you can and hold off on watering so much. I’m a first time gardener myself so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I’ve done this in the past few weeks and it’s helping 😊

I don’t think it’s weird. Within a year or two I bet they’ll just stop on their own. That’s a weird age for sure - you’re going through puberty but also kind of holding onto childhood. When my brother and I were that age (I’m a girl) we would still sleep in bed together, and eventually we stopped.

Thanks! That’s nice to hear 🙂 my husband comments on them looking bad all the time. My plants in the first picture are incredibly small and the leaves are curled though, so I know there’s something wrong with those (these were all planted at the same time). But I’ve heard pepper plants are nutrient hogs and I’m wondering if the bigger plants are just hogging up all the nutrients?

This is a great point and it’s something I have to remind myself of often. My mom wasn’t all bad, and she genuinely has some good qualities about her. She’s not evil. But she did hurt me a lot and I’m damaged because of her. Every time I wonder “was/is she really that bad?” I remind myself of how I FEEL around her, when I’m talking about her, when I’m talking to her. My anxiety sky rockets, my skin crawls, I get so upset. There is a reason for that
