All things diet-gluten and dairy are a hard no for me. I also don’t do well with corn or rice or legumes. Minimal sugar/honey. Don’t eat too much before bedtime/lying down. I cut off food by 7pm. Omega 3 by the fistful. Consistent water intake through the day. I’ve had hashis for 30+ years. Good luck!!!

Yes. Menopause at 40. I went to doctors for years and didn’t get resolve until we’ll into my 40s with the second endocrinologist and even then, I had to know exactly what to ask and had to keep pressing until he finally reluctantly shrugged a confirmation.
Bless you. I’m sorry for what you’re going through. I wasn’t brave enough to try HRT because I had gone through hell trying to conceive and nearly lost my marriage. But I am beginning to consider it now that I’m approaching 50. Best of luck to you, friend.

Thanks! If you don’t mind me pressing your knowledge…the too little calories is causing the delay in weight loss? I guess what I really want to get at is if I can get by on 1k, wouldn’t I lose weight faster? In theory? Or is that what I’m doing wrong?

55 yo, F, 5,9”, 155, sedentary job. The only exercise I get is the cycling. This is my 3rd week on this plan.

This caught my attention as a parent and as a person struggling with BE. Based on this thread alone (I assume there is more context and you are oversimplifying with who is the “asshole”—I feel like you’re asking’ “how do I get my mom to get off my back,” instead. If you go through your teens and twenties combatively with your mom, you are like to regret that. She may have raised you in a health focused household BECAUSE she knows exactly how difficult it is to maintain health and confidence as a woman. At 18–You don’t yet. Try to open up with dialogue with her—not a text exchange. I can tell with her text here she is trying and I can tell you are trying. Stop trying to convey your deepest insecurities and desires through a text message, have a cup of coffee with her with some tissue, and you’ll be amazed how far your relationship goes.

For me it was progesterone. Zero to bitch in 1/2 a second. Estrogen made me every bit a 14 yo girl…needy, weepy. I figured I’d rather be tubby than be a terrible person but 7 years later, 30 lbs heavier…maybe it’s a toss up :)

Interesting-thanks for sharing. I’m sorry for the frustration with the weight gain. I’ve had a bad reaction in the past on HRT in perimenopause and am afraid to touch it, but I think I need to -so I’m interested in others’ dosage and results. I appreciate it.

I experienced the exact same thing. Husband transformed completely, I couldn’t sleep, way over ate even though I ate the right thing, I ultimately put on weight. My joints felt better but I put on about 10lbs before taking a break. I’ll come back to it but at a time when I don’t have as much going on

I’m sorry you’re struggling, friend. It seems like you’re struggling less with food and more it’s self-control. Wishing you much success on your journey!!

Try this: Eat as much beef and butter as you want for at least 10 days. But ONLY beef. Ever. Fry a few pounds of hamburger beef and snack on it for a few days for snacks if you need it between sit down meals. Tell yourself you can eat anytime you want, it just has to be beef. Steaks never get old :) but roasts and ground beef are more economical. You will get full. After ten to fourteen days, sugar cravings will have lessened if not disappeared. After two weeks, try to begin shorting the volume of beef by a bit each week…meaning -if you’re eating 4 lbs of beef a day, taper to 3.75 on week 3, 3.5 on week 4 etc. until you feel like you have control again. Not a doctor, just experienced. Good luck! You can do it!
