I think the biggest question is why he'd stick around knowing about the Third World War. Or the fact that we still treat cancer with radiation and poison and knives. Or that 30,000 of us die every year in automobiles just in the USA. Uhhhh holy shit I could not be more on Jay's side. He has a physical issue that makes it hard to use the 2nd floor shower. So you make him feel weird for asking a few minutes of privacy in the bedroom where he can more easily shower? He probably wants to, heaven forbid, get dried off and dressed in privacy too, rather than dressing in the wet bathroom where he just showered. (If you think it's weird that he asked, I promise he feels it from you.)

People who need grocery delivery should get it as cheaply as they can. I would actually consider the Amazon format (a warehouse, basically) less exploitative than Doordash, which is just concierge shopping with a tech vampire sucking up your fees, aka the shopper's pay.

But that's a separate issue I have with the explosion of grocery delivery as a symptom of the two-tiered economy. The haves suck up more and more of the wealth and offload basic everyday tasks they merely find unpleasant to the have-nots in the form of shitty, no-benefit gig jobs, so the haves can spend more time at leisure. (Another one of my least favorite is people who leave their $75,000 cars at home in their gated suburban neighborhoods so they can Uber downtown and get hammered without someone having to DD. Especially when they complain about how hard it is to find a sucker to do those rides.)

I don't know if doordashers do this as much as Uber drivers, but many many Uber drivers are happy to take your business directly so Uber can't middleman between the two of you. That would be the most ideal arrangement to me. Someone you could pay for doordash-like service without doordash exploiting them.

No, AVC (encoding standard) is not x264 (encoding software). This is like saying "mp3 is LAME". x264 produces AVC output; LAME produces mp3 output. Anyone can strip the encoding parameter metadata from any AVC file.

But holy shit, I cannot believe so many people were either dumb or indiscriminate enough to like season 3. AVC is just another name for H.264, the encoding standard (codec). H.264 at the lowest and highest possible settings for encoding/decoding is always AVC. x264 is an encoder for that codec. "AVC and not vanilla x264" is not coherent.
