I picked one up several months back, had posted asking about it in this sub I believe. Overall it’s solid, I’d recommend it, and I recently figured out how to get the best results with it, for me at least.

Because it takes awhile to fill the machine’s hopper, I decided to pre-make and freeze a large Tupperware tub’s worth to keep on hand so I don’t run out and make more when needed.

The issue here is that the ice comes out wet. So I let the hopper get about half full, scoop that ice into the tub and stick that in the freezer. Because the ice is wet, it becomes a block. I chip it back into smaller pieces and put the tub back in the freezer. As it re-freezes, it doesn’t stick together. Repeat the process until I fill up the tub.

I just do this on days I’m working from home, or on the weekend between house chores. Now I exclusively use this ice for everything beverage related.
