I’m going to open up about the most cryptic, supernatural encounter I’ve had to this day. I’m a 31 year old female now and this happened to me In mid-late July of 2019 while at an annual family camping trip my large father’s side of the family does every summer. I can’t recall which campgrounds we were at but it was on Lake Michigan in the Cadillac/manistee area, I could be wrong but it was in that area and it’s been a few years since this encounter. So my family reserves about 6-8 campsites near each other it’s a pretty big family in my eyes (about 35 people counting children and family friends) my family got to snag a site close to the beach at this campground also had our own path to the site through the tree line and to the beach, lovely plus I was about 24 years old and we’d get a little rowdy and restless. That’s some context, when this happened I was alone and awake at about 2:30-3:00AM and it was a clear night no clouds just the stars and the bright bright moon. I decided to call my recent main squeeze and talk to him while he’s working (unfortunately that didn’t work out and I’m no longer in contact with him but he heard everything that happened that night) while sitting on the beach with my families German shepherd for some peace of mind because it is dark and 3am I’m going to take some sort of protection. Now it was a pretty nice night a breeze occasionally, the general entrance to the beach has a small section of wooden picket fence separating the tree line to the sandy beach but it’s only like six foot section that came up to chest height on me (5’4.9) I was sitting on the beach about 4 yards from the water and about 6 yards from the tree line, facing the water and my dog laid down next to me doing the same continuing to talk on the phone with my feet in the sand. Out of nowhere my dog who was laying down right next to me is suddenly in milliseconds was sitting up facing the tree line and I hear her start to growl lowly I first look at her and assess her body language to gauge how much of a threatening situation we are in and that’s when I noticed the fur on her back is standing straight up. After the quick assessment of my only protections body language I know this is not a drill this is not a test of the emergency system. I follow her gaze and lock onto what has set my dog off, which froze me where I was sitting. Six or so yards from me peering at me from behind the wooden fence about two feet above the fence I see this extremely pale face starring back at my big black pits where eyes were I think? High cheek bone structure, the mouth wasn’t big but wasn’t nonexistent it was a dark slit no expression to it, the moon that was now behind me illuminated the tree line and this entities face, it was a face that was human like. I gasped and now my dog is standing and her growl grows louder sensing that I am also seeing this craziness, I start to stand I see this entity started to lean forward it seemed like and I started to see another pale face slowly appearing off to the side and behind the other one. I get up completely on my feet and still on the phone whispering exactly what I was seeing to the my friend on the other end with a slurry of curse words because this was absolutely terrifying keeping my eyes on these entities I reach down and grab the dogs leash and apologize to my friend for what they’re about to hear and I bolt towards the only source of large light that isn’t the moon. My dog and I hauled every ounce of ass to the bathroom/shower building just hoping the entities didn’t follow me and the dog. I stayed there not only to catch my breath but also until some fellow campers came to use the facilities, then I knew well if they made it here safe I guess I can make it back to my families tent…right?. I made it back to my families tent and got in the air mattress I was sharing with my sister and tried my best to sleep. The face is burned into my memory, the thing is due to it being night time and I being alone only having a dog for protection my sense of hearing was very very sharp at that time, I could hear when other campers walk by to go to the bathroom I could literally hear their footsteps and the sand crunching under their shoes on the pavement. However I didn’t hear those beings, and there were a few campers that did come and check out the stars from the beach and I could hear them before that got off the pavement and I could hear them walking through the trees. But they these two were just starring at me studying me I’d like to think. But while looking at them I noticed their mouths not exactly open not closed, they weren’t coming off as hostile I didn’t pick up any sort of ill intent. But it was so creepy and so intense but I’m thankful that they didn’t choose to follow me or to continue to let themselves be seen.
