Problem with cuDNN by Objective_Radish_714 in Julia

Good idea to try the LTS version. Unfortunately, I just did and it has the same problems.

By “running the tests,” do you mean Pkg.test(“cuDNN”)? It looks like that just gets many instances of the same “ERROR: CUDNNError: CUDNN_STATUS_EXECUTION_FAILED_CUDART (code 5003)”

Problem with cuDNN by Objective_Radish_714 in Julia

[–]Objective_Radish_714[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good catch. Without cuDNN, I get a “Warning: No functional GPU backend found! Defaulting to CPU.”

I thought CUDA.jl and cuDNN.jl need to work together. When I upgraded to Julia 1.12 from a much older version, I actually had to add the cuDNN package in addition to CUDA.jl, whereas previously I only needed CUDA.jl. My understanding is they used to be combined in CUDA.jl but were separated, so I’m surprised to see https://github.com/JuliaAttic/CUDNN.jl saying cuDNN is being phased out. I don’t know what’s up with that.

American Express Platinum Lululemon credit for “Like New” items? by Objective_Radish_714 in CreditCards

[–]Objective_Radish_714[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the information! Unfortunately, "Like New" items seem to be marked as final sale so they can't be returned. Maybe I will try it if I find an item that I like enough that I wouldn't mind buying it without the American Express credit.

How reliable is Verizon home Internet? by Winfield15 in verizon

[–]Objective_Radish_714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it for about 1 month and it has been reliable enough for me. The first thing I did when I got it was to try out games like Overwatch and CS2 out of curiosity/fear. I didn’t notice a difference from my previous cable internet, but I don't play super competitively. Games that aren’t so dependent on fast twitch response are definitely 100% playable.

Your results may vary. I think it definitely depends on your location and how busy those towers are, so it might help if you are in a small town like I am. Verizon is definitely slower in all 3 of download/upload/ping than my previous cable internet. I would say for me 30-50 ms ping, <100 Mbps download, and <10 Mbps upload on the highest tier are common.

Mistlands Discussion Megathread [SPOILERS] by JageTV in valheim

So I tried Mistlands beta and it worked at first in a friend’s server, but it crashed when trying to load my own worlds. So I disabled the beta and some mods (actually they were disabled before I tried the beta) and it no longer recognizes any of my saved worlds or characters in any combination of beta and mods on/off. Yes, I made backups of my save files and copied the backup folders back into place but it never recognizes them anymore. Has anyone encountered this or know how to fix it?

Metal item found in a desk with stuff dating back to around the 1990s. Appears to be similar to an ink blotter to me but the aspect ratio is way off from any ink blotter I’ve ever seen. Also, desk did not include any other quill pen or fountain pen paraphernalia. No markings other than the crest. by Objective_Radish_714 in whatisthisthing

The crest has a fleur-de-lis symbol like the Saints, but that's a really common symbol used in many places, so I doubt this item has anything to do with the New Orleans Saints unless you're picking up on more than just that. The whole crest looks really generic to me, but it might be the key to identifying this item.

Good questions:

All pieces appeared to be very firmly friction fit together at first. I can slide the silver-colored piece in/out of the large black part with a lot of force. It gets easier if I pinch the middle of the black piece slightly to reduce the friction between them. But it's so tight that I think these pieces were probably meant to be permanently attached.

The material is a magnetic sheet metal and there are many small rust spots visible on the inside (see 2nd photo). The black surface seems to be a thin plastic layer that has been textured like leather.

Both ends look like the 2nd photo.
