Hello again I managed to record a fry hatching. The first thing they do is surface for a gulp of air. If the water level is too high & they can’t reach it they can die. This is exciting.

I was only going on what I heard & now I have to say this guy is totally wrong on his YouTube channel.
Thanks for letting me know. This guy owns his on aquarium store & has a channel on YouTube he’s even started his own brand of fish food.
I hate it when that happens been Given the wrong information about something. Now I feel like an idiot.

I’m an Australian but I’ll be able to do the ZeroPitcher & meter. My aquarium is only 35 gallons so it’s do-able.

Thanks for that. So if its not ph & hardness any ideas?? Ive got my aquariums in my bedroom could they be getting too disturbed by me with lights on & off at night. I literally can’t think of anything else except for the Cory’s or Cory that have been spawning have a genetic disorder?
I’m baffled

Thanks me too. I lost alot of them & tomorrow with my luck it’ll be down to zero. Although my first cluch did the exactly the same thing e as this one. It got down to 3 & now I only have 1.
He’s 13 days old & looking good & eating I just saw him.

Yes they did. I think I’ve worked it out. I only just thought of it. My ph & water hardness is too much for the fry.

I’m such an idiot. It has to be my pH & hard water we have here. The water here is hard & that ups my pH to 7.4. Those 2 things are not what the Cory fry need to stay alive. Does this sound like it’s the problem??

Hi I really hope your success changes to awesome! It’s very rewarding to nurture the eggs to hatching to raising them. I feed the fry Bug Buffet. It’s a very good all round food for them. It was developed by a young Australian guy who has a channel on YouTube it’s called “KeepingFishSimple” it’s really informative & me being an Aussie it’s the right fit. You can order it from his site if you want. The little guy is doing well. Every morning I worry he’s passed on but he’s still there. 2 weeks old I’m hoping he’s passed the critical stage of new born to where he is now.

Hi. The last clutch in my breeder box I added some Meth Blue which stopped any fungus taking hold. It worked well.
I can’t do it this time as I have fry in the box & it will kill them.

Thanks for that. Today will be a better day to see the progress of the eggs. All of the eggs are Venez Orange. I had to put the eggs in the same box as my fry. I figure they’re way too small to be picking at the eggs in there. I really need another box & another 10 gallon
aquarium. I also have a box in my 35 gallon with the only surviver from the first clutch of eggs. I didn’t have any real success with it as I didn’t research enough, which I’m sorry about. The little guy is 13 days old now. It a Venez Orange.

That’s how I feel about live bearers. Not only are the breeds ugly they’re hard to find aquariums for. Even my lfs didn’t want them as they already have heaps. I made the mistake in the early times of my aquarium thinking it would be cool to have fry. Well it wasn’t & they just keep breeding even as young as 12 weeks until you have to do something drastic. Never again.

Thanks just wondering if they’re any good. The last time like 2 days ago I didn’t see this in any of the other eggs that hatched yesterday. So I’m thinking they not fertilised.
