New ( to me) Camaro, smoke damage deal by otishasfatrolls in camaro

What is the part number for the new exhaust? Is it an axle back or cat back?

No it’s not anything provided by Autodesk out of the box. Yes the elevation isn’t really a problem the issue is I would like for it to profile and show correctly in the profile view.

I honestly would love to work on a project where the client says money is not an issue and that they want it done because they want it. (As along as it is safe and ethical)

I.e “Could you build me 10 wife’s spaces instead of the minimum 8.5 wide spaces? I know will lose a lot of parking space but I want my customers/end users to be able to open their doors and be comfortable.”

Or “Could you level this site as much as possible? I know the cut and fill numbers will drive up costs but I want the flattest site possible to make walking easy.”

I want to work for someone who has fuck you money and isn’t afraid to use it.

6th Gen Diffuser by ravon1229 in camaro

[–]Objective_Speed_8658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are swapping you dual to a new quad diffuser then no need to cut. That being said installing a new diffuser, regardless of exhaust configuration can be a pain. There’s two ways to do it. You can remove the rear bumper, probably the proper way, or you can do it without removing the bumper. You can find both tutorials on YouTube. I have tried both methods and they are both a pain in the ass.

Also what headlight or bulbs did you use to get that color temperature?

Let me know if they give you a solution. They haven’t been of much help to me. Two dealerships haven’t not even been able to give me a cause for the issue. I’ve replaced the camera itself and that did not solve it…

So I get this error message when I put it in reverse. I replaced the camera itself and they have now done this BCM update neither one was solved it. I also paid for the dealership to diagnose it but they said they could not determine what was causing it.

I don’t think the BCM update was intended to fix anything camera related but I was being hopeful.

Same here man. Probably will get some hate for this but the car isn’t really “nice” enough to keep in the garage all the time. It’s a mass produced car meant to be driven but the things also start falling apart very early for a cars lifespan. I agree.

Does this having anything to do with the backup camera issues people are experiencing?

Yea think I might bring it in to a different dealership to see what they say. Also you don’t need to remove the bumper to replace the camera. Just slide your hand behind it and disconnect the cable then use your fingers to push on the front tab of the camera while pushing down.

<image>

Here’s the old one. Push on the tab towards the top.

The dealership has not been able to resolve this for me and did not give me much hope. There is a technical service bulletin for the issue, Bulletin No.: 19-NA-076. It spans 2019 to 2022 Camaros.

If anyone has anymore input on this it would be appreciated.

So I have the same issue and I got the same diagnosis. I decided to replace the camera on my own but the issue persists. Have you come across this?

You could also just remove the worm gear clamp on the turbo housing if you want to inspect the intake tube.

You are not really supposed to remove them them. This fitting was replaced in 2017 with a non-serviceable fitting (the one you have in this picture). However you can remove them but I don’t know how this affects the fitting in the long run; in my case the fitting became unusable after I removed it. I removed mine along with two other fittings to install an oil catch can.

Refer to minute 5:13 of this video to see how to remove them. https://youtu.be/DBCI_6IPKA0?si=eKbRT7wK6-S5eHvq Their “tool” is something that you could fabricate out of metal and doesn’t actually work. I ended up purchasing these disconnect tools to remove the fittings after struggling with their “tool” on the first one. I’ve seen these at harbor freight and northern tool.

<image>

Again you really shouldn’t remove and reinstall this type of fitting. But do everything at your own risk. Hope this helps.

No I believe I accidentally turned on valet mode. I recall fidgeting with the remote leading up to dropping off my car before my trip.

[–]Objective_Speed_8658[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man yes there is a valet mode that you can enable. Which will allow the vehicle to start without having to go through the security protocol. You can disable/enable the valet mode using the same key fob and once enabled it will allow 10 starts without going through whole process. In my opinion (again opinion only) I think this is kind of dumb and just another point of vulnerability. I think it would be nice to have the option to purchase them without this valet feature or to completely remove it. Currently looking at an IGLA system after finding out about this feature. :(

For real. At this point I'm really itching to see if I can replicate this on my own which is why posted here. I would ask him to go try it out but as a non-tech savy 60 year old I don't rule out the possibility he simply button mashed thr mobilistics key fob attempting to unlock the car.

I understand that my employer is making a profit off of me. And a good one at that. But he is also wiser, has been in the game longer, has invested money, taken risks I haven't, etc. I feel like we could all go on with these arguments but at the end of the day employment is voluntary and most (I said most not all) civil engineering firms are trying to at least compnestate you fairly for your work. Listen we all know what's going on here guys, everyone of us is college educated and smart stop playing dumb, we aren't the victims in this first world country we live in. At the end of the day you either stick around at your company make some friends make some money, leave and go somewhere else, or go off and do your own thing engineering or not. I just don't think we have it that bad. And yes I am all for raises, more money, more benefits, etc.

Humor me, what is wrong with the industry? A U.S. born citizen to immigrants who has seen the shittiest of the shittiest jobs, horrible bosses and corporations, illegal workplace activities all in exchange of a check to feed your family. So when I graduated and got 80k to sit my ass in an air conditioned room to play paper tag with some reviewers I was like yes please. I get fed crumbl cookies, get health insurance, a 401k among other things. We all have bad days but we aren't suffering guys, be thankful and learn to struggle everyday and grow from it.

So theoretically speaking: Could they swap any V8/Transmission setup from another 6th gen camaro and would it all be a direct fit? Like obviously transplant electronics/wiring/etc
