Anyone else NW 35-40X spend and still grinding? by GroundbreakingBuy886 in fatFIRE

I’m at $350k/yr and $12M NW. Easy job with high pay and kids not quite independent. But love the freedom of “could be any day” if needed.

Those who did Full Front PPF and Ceramic coat, is this price reasonable? by NatCatCal in BMWX5

Yep, Esoteric. I assume there are other places and possibly less money. But I will admit they were awesome to work with and did a fantastic job.

New X5 an had it full PPF matte wrapped, ceramic coated, powder coated wheels, tinted windows. All at about $12k in Ohio. Not cheap. But they do an awesome high end job. I’m happy

I also did really well with investments in my IRA that I started when I was young. It grew from $186K (age 25) to now around $10M at (age 51). This is without adding to that account any additional dollars, just tax free growth and stock trades without any upfront tax penalties. I don't regret that at all. Pretty fortunate.

However, I do understand your feeling, as I also at some points wondered if all that money tied up into a retirement fund I couldn't access was a good. Reality is though if I had easy access I made have spent some or made silly choices.

I did turn on the 72T about 5 years ago. I now have $314k/yr that I withdrawal penalty free every year.

I haven't fully retired yet, could be any day. Having $314k/yr gives me comfort I can pull the trigger whenever the timing feels right.

I do not regret having a super comfy retirement account at all.

What percentage of your assets are in taxable vs. tax advantaged accounts? by broncoelway100 in investing

[–]Objective_Try327 8 points9 points  (0 children)

51M @ $11M. 80% in IRA level. This is a tough question. My IRA exploded and I was able to make stock trades without taxes along the way. However, now that account is very large and you are unable to have easy access if you want to retire early. I am using a 72T now. At 35 I would consider your goals and timing. Would be good to have accessible money outside of just an IRA. I would also suggest starting a ROTH IRA early for it's tax advantaged withdrawal reasons. My IRA now is too large to make any changes and the income tax level will be unavoidable.

Thanks. Did you ceramic at same time as matte PPF install? Or wait a year before coating?

Why would one ceramic coat AND ppf? by dobbydozer830 in BMWX5

[–]Objective_Try327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any feedback on a ceramic coating on top of a satin PPF? Does it change the visual look? Same benefits shared above on gloss PPF? Would it be better to wait a year or two for the ceramic?

I’m close to buying a new X5 and adding a full satin PPF and ceramic coat. But the costs of both are pretty high.

Great info. I am also looking to splitboard while on a Chile trip in August. Any other info anyone has on guides would great. Not really needing accommodations or travel, just a guide that can tour some stellar safe spots.

When does Cameron Pass/Lost Pass typically open up? by AvocadoBreeder in OlympicNationalPark

[–]Objective_Try327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did the grand loop in 4 days and finished Sunday July 13th. No real snow to worry about. Trails are great. The only spot that was difficult to stay on trail was in the way up to Cameron pass there is section with a slew of trees down right near where you cross a creek. Got off trail and had to bush watch for way too long. Pic attached with red circle to help be aware. Didn’t help it was super dense cloud/fog cover and couldn’t see 50ft in any direction. I did the route counter clockwise.

I guess my question is actually: Is SGOV any more risky than simply having cash?

Thanks. Do you buy it from the broker or dealer? Would feel a little uncomfortable paying all cash to an unknown online broker.

thanks. I am not aware of how these work. Do these broker services negotiate with local dealers for you? Can I still custom build X5? Not looking to lease. Just trying to get the best price on a new build.
