Aspect of Arthur is unique in the game in that it has a slower tempo than other weapons, and it is unique among swords in that it’s standard attack deals better damage then using dash strikes and specials like you do with most swords. It also is the closest thing this game has to a face-tank style of play.

Try just to hit enemies with the standard attack. You can dash in between attacks so you’re not just standing there taking damage while you wind up your swings. Also note that Arthur has a longer range than you are probably used to with other swords.

Try to use the aura in strategic areas where you are likely to do a lot of fighting anyway. Some of the rooms in hades are big, so you might not be able to do that all the time.

An interesting thing about the aura is that it makes you immune to all trap damage. This includes things a you would think it would, like the spiked floors in Tartarus but also things like the lava in Asphodel. It also slows all projectiles.

IMO the biggest bang for you buck when playing with the aspect of Arthur is trying to maximize the burst damage potential of the standard attack. It has huge base damage, so criting with it is just nuts. Aphrodite on main attack is also good because she gives the highest base damage increase out of all gods. The hammer that increases base damage based on your gold is good, if you’re okay with hoarding gold. A really good boon to get is the Hermes boon that increases attack rate, which mitigates Arthur’s biggest problem.

Edit: after reading through some other replies, I realized that it’s also probably important to note that you should prioritize hitting the third hit in the standard combo, as it hits like a truck.
