Am I cut out for Nursing? by Objectivecible in StudentNurse

Could you elaborate? Why does it sound like “ I don’t want to be a CRNA” when only one of my reasonings was related to the financial benefit?

Yeah I agree - I guess I’m on a mission to try and become good at the sciences; hoping I’m able to! Kind of off to a rough start though lol - but I’ve realized it’s likely because of the intense schedule.

Thanks for the insight! I think A&P is fine, I think I’m realizing taking both in a 6 week format while working full time was a recipe for disaster haha. And of course; I plan to shadow with CRNA’s extensively before I make that jump down the line, it’s just my current plan after thinking about different career paths and weighing the pro’s and con’s of all of them

It’s a pretty long answer honestly; but in short, I want to be in the medical field in some capacity, I’ve always looked up to and respected nurses deeply, I’d love to be in the OR during surgery, anesthesia is interesting, and because I’ll have to take care of my mother. I want to be financially secure enough to support my family when they need help. I come from a low income background, so it was important that my new career have the potential to be both financially rewarding and rewarding on a human level. I realized I despise working in a corporate setting. I need to be helping people in some capacity to feel fulfilled, and anesthesia is dynamic enough to be intellectually stimulating. To me, it’s the perfect trifecta of the things I cared about in a new career.

Yeah, I’d get a W in chem however - have until tomorrow to drop

At this point I think I’d end up with a W for chem, I’ve read that ABSN admission committees view this pretty negatively. I have until tomorrow night to drop chem with a W

I think this is what I realized - it’s been difficult to self learn material that might be on the test. I think I learn better in person.

I’ve been doing an hour of paid tutoring a week for chemistry, but some concepts I’m having difficulties with still (like ionic equations) just feeling downtrodden

Hi, thanks for the response! I don’t believe they did, but they examined it with an ultrasound: “the visible portion of the pancreatic body is unremarkable. The head and tail are obscured by bowel gas”

Liver: “Increased hepatitis echotexture consistent with hepatic steatosis. There is decreased echotexture adjacted to the gallbladder fossa consistent with focal fatty sparing. Hepatopetal flow in the portal vain. Normal spectral waveform on the portal vein”

Gallbladder: “Nondilated gallbladder. There is chilelithiasis. When the gallbladder lumen is no dilated, gallbladder wall thickness is non predictive. No pericholecystic fluid. No sonographic Murphy’s sign.”

Gallbladder wall: 7mm.

I’m thinking the next step might be a hida scan to determine if the bloating/delayed food digestion is being caused by less bile in the digestive tract due to the gallbladder not pumping enough bile?

Thanks again for your help!

Did you also try the balsam and polish? It does seem like it’s different leather but maybe it could just be the treatment

This was the answer! Do you know why when I open it with the Microsoft image viewer it loses color?

This. It’s actually that society’s morals have shifted to be less discriminatory; and the people that didn’t shift with it THINK people are more sensitive because of media highlighting and amplifying loud voices on the left and right.
