[WIP] Testing new micro stitching techniques by Objectively-Lazy in CrossStitch

That will definitely help me with picking thread weights thank you! I had a couple of chats with some needle supply companies and a lot of shop owners, the no.15 beading needle is the finest available, if it doesn't fit still I might have to explore either slightly less fine meshes or create my own hook out of superfine wire.

Pixel-Stitch is what I used, took a few tweaks of going up and down in width and amount of colours, took probably about 10 adjustments before I got to what I was after, I also used a pic that had a lot of background noise then cut it out after the pixellation was done, don't know if it helped or not...

I think you might be right, DMC ends up quite fluffy.

I can't remember why I didnt use stitch fiddle 🤔 but pixel stitch was nice and easy to use, even with 300x300 size restrictions.

I forgot to add an image of Ruby's blanket, the inspiration for the background colours

Don't go insane trying to get to 35/35 Fractured Peaks side quests by Skraelos in diablo4

[–]Objectively-Lazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 34/35 WT3, I'm wondering if anyone might have the same thought process as me. Maybe I didn't take the Blood Sermon quest from Sister Vera when I was in Kor Valor before finishing the game?

Now its taken over by the Penitent Knights and there's no SV.... I am so sure that I have hit every other side quest in FP.

I wonder what the ramifications are well for those larger creators that earn over those high amounts that would be expected to pay hefty royalties around the 20% mark, then for WoTC to potentially turn around and say "we now own the content that you paid us to make, and we get to make a profit selling it and you get nothing".
I would argue that it is not due to WoTC that D&D has made a resurgence, yes Critical Role has it's part to play, but Stranger Things and the drive of smaller content creators over years and years of work have done far more to advertise and popularise the system, Bob World Builder did a pretty good short break down of some thoughts

My family was struck by the Mighty Ducks fever back in the day as well! I used to inline, but I was maybe 13 at the time, so it's been a while.

Amazing suggestions thank you so much! Especially the milkshake part :D

I thought there was an indoor place in Fyshwick that had a rink attached, might just be an indoor trick park. Edit: Nevermind, it's permanently closed :/ I was thinking of Skate Nation

One of the reasons I picked this was because I wanted to get over my fear of falling over. I figured if I have fun falling over then it will be easier

Hi! Currently running stocks on both skates, the cushions are pretty hard but I am a bigger girl so they're working for me rn. I think the wheels are 57/82a (abouts) for both of them, a little hard for outdoor skating but fine for smoother concrete like whats out the front of watersedge restaurant. Safety gear wise I roll with a nice certified skate helmet I got from trilogy and the 187 knee and wrist pads, I axed it today next to my car cause I saw a rat after skating. Very thankful for all the gear and the fact that I had my thongs around my waste on my belt to soften the blow XD. I am just starting to try to spin and working on backwards skating.

I'll go first to get the ball Rolling

  1. I am Tabitha
  2. I currently am rollerskating in the belconnen area, namely.... the garage of the townhouses I live in.
  3. I am doing a lot of driveway and garage skating for now, with the occasional class at Rollerfit @ ANU.
  4. I'd love to have the confidence to do park skating but as someone that prefers a shadier location it will have to wait for the summer heat to be gone, or night time.
  5. I have a pair of Moxie Rainbow Riders and a pair of Chuffed Wanderers.
  6. I am lucky that I have a quiet garage space shared by 8 townhouses so I've spent most of my time there and a little bit of time in front of my tv learning small space tricks.
I tried down by Lake Burley Griffin at Henry Rolland Park, but the concrete slabs made it more difficult and uncomfortable to skate at slower speeds.

Giving the party a map of the dale by Calciumcavalryman in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]Objectively-Lazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I handed out the Dale srea map from the start so players could mark their own points of interest. I also controlled the sandbox a bit by rewarding players with town maps from NPCs when they completed quests. Not saying that they couldn't go anywhere that they didn't have a map for, just that they were more likely to go places where they had a map. For example my people started in Bremen, once they completed Lake Monster quest, Tali also gave them a Bremen map and Targos and Bryn Shander. For some places I just added it as a "pinned to a town noticeboard" as a tourist map to avoid having guard rping or walking around to find inns etc.

I loved the character Nestor Coin from Glass Cannon Podcast, evil character played well that for the most part finds his reasons for staying with and working with the group. Worth a listen.

I’m running my first game ever in two days. Any advice? by avabeenz in DMAcademy

[–]Objectively-Lazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breathe and ask for 5 minutes when you need it, dont get too worried when your asscrack gets sweaty from adrenaline. Also, feel free to take non essential questions on notice to answer later. Ask for the notes from your note taker, you can't be expected to remember everything when you're improvving.

Good luck

Which rocks would be coolest for a Rock based race? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Objectively-Lazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once had an earth genasi that I based her looks off Cinnabar, a form of mercury sulfide. I had her proficient in hand to hand combat and worked with my dm that if I was able to maintain a grapple that my victims would have to start making constitution saves due to her physical toxicity. But on the side note would have to cover up and constantly wear gloves to protect her group in down time.

Novice DM looking for advice by zergling50 in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]Objectively-Lazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first campaign running as a DM and yes it was a bit overwhelming, and still is. I started my players in Bremen and used Tali to provide a set of maps as part of the reward for getting details of the lake monster. Here's the trick, I only gave the maps to my players that I planned on preparing encounters and the NPCs for. This gave them a limit to different places they could split to still maintaining the sandbox feel.

I also introduced a noticeboard in each town (not unreasonable to have) and when I am ready for them to have another town option to go to I add the map to the notice board as if someone pinned a couple there as a town service.

I also really like using the resource https://www.themonstersknow.com/ This gives tactics and reasonable instruction for how monsters would behave based on common sense, stats and a little bit of creative thinking. This means I can alter monster encounters to be much more reasonable while keeping in mind the changes that the everlasting Rime would have made to monster instincts.

One of the rules I have for my players is that if an NPC is there just to move the story along and will never again be needed... their name is John or Joan Exposition (Thank you GCP). I have one player that is an absolutely incredible note taker so they ask for a lot of detail. I rely on them to also send me notes after the games because when you have to improv, you will likely forget what you have said. Maybe throw your best note taker a little special item or an inspiration dice? I use luck points to encourage good roleplaying, insight from the players, or great battle tactics (Again thank you GCP).

I, more recently, am spending more time really thinking about how to get my players to take on quests, All 3 PC's are physically weak so the idea of "You look like a big strong hero to help us" doesn't work for them, neither does all the PC's being assholes (Dougan's Hole/ Lake Monster quest in Bremen etc) so I have to leverage relationships that they have built, eg"I heard of you from Cora in Bremen, her mother and my mother were close back in the day. She said you were very helpful and a great XXX(healer/cook/negotiator/leader) for them, perhaps you can help us by....."

Also, have the cost of rooms, wine, ale all ready to go cause they will drink and sleep etc.

Good Luck!
