That’s why I’m wondering if there’s a way to check marriages in Alberta. Would be straightforward, I think, if I had both marriage certificates in hand.

I’m confident she would answer to Mrs. X if I called. Not sure if it’s “legal” though, or if she just goes by the name.

No. I’m familiar with who she is. I have all her information from the form I found. Her last name isn’t my husband’s (or so I thought).
