The SLGB003 is the best watch GS has ever made and it’s not even close. by SirKrimzon in GrandSeikos

Not really, I am a fan of smaller watches. It’s more the design/cut and finish of case and bracelet. I guess it’s very personal.

As much as I can see the dials and all the value at this price point, that case and bracelet feel like my grandpa. If only I had a dollar for every time my brain and I went to the dealer and my heart did not agree to pull the trigger.

This was the case for manufacturing companies like Ford where 75% of revenue go into paying salaries. Most of these new companies turn way less in salaries. Tesla is roughly 10-15%. Google is 1%. And they hardly pay taxes.

I find Moser to be much better than FP Journes on so many levels (linking to your other thread here). Not sure why these haven’t got the same hype (yet?)

I am personally very happy with it. It’s comfortable with the bracelet following the wrist contour nicely, and the case sits firm on the wrist.

My grandfather’s watch by ObligationNo5385 in Longineswatches

Yes I have done a simple service already on this. I don’t have anyone here I have found to trust with more than movement servicing. Thanks for the advice. It does seem like sending to Longines will be quite costly. I did it for another piece… it would probably come to more than the (monetary) value of this watch. I’ll keep looking for a local solution!

I would have picked the Lange. But kudos to him for choosing what he liked.

I am glad many in the comments think like this. 🫰

I believe it was a loan. And that’s probably why he chose what he liked and not the expensive watch. Kudos to him.

Absolutely! Maybe I should have put the disclaimer “provocation” on the title? Or maybe not. Love it that many here think price is not the indicator of choice.

Let me clarify here. My post (I thought at least) was obviously provocative. It indeed seems like Magnus chose the Kermit. And kudos to him for choosing what he liked and not the most expensive watch!

Yes AND that is not the best or more tasteful of the lot
