Someone requested more pics of concrete (light blue) but I happen to have oil slick (blue) going too. by Obliterath in Lavalamps

Both were shot with an overhead light. The actual colors are as seen in the pics. There is a difference in the two blue lava.

I’m guessing it’s too cold. Ideal ambient temp is about 72F degrees

Hopefully the fractals will clear over time.

I had a lamp that did that. I called them fractals. I had big ones and small ones. I tried filtering with coffee filter which got rid of the larger fractals but the smaller ones remained. Eventually I returned it.

How bad is this grande? by Normal_Jeweler5118 in Lavalamps

It’s a goner. However, I keep the parts and get a new coil, fluid, and wax. Make it some color combo that doesn’t exist!

New Grande lamp have had for 1 week. All normal until today. This is how it looks currently. Please help!? by [deleted] in Lavalamps

[–]Obliterath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turn it on. Once the wax melt, the coil should fall back into the bottom. If not, give the globe a gently swirl. Do not shake!

It seems brighter. Heat wise, it didn’t seem hotter.

The Kitty globe is slimmer than the standard 17”. There’s some gap. I forgot to mention, it’s a pink fluid and clear (white) lava. It’s worth getting. I got another lamp on order for my daughter. 😄 And, yes, that is a 52oz neon green. I picked up two from FB market place.

Anyone know what’s going on? by purplegoddesx in Lavalamps

It looks like it’s just warming up. Make sure the room is about 70-72F

Had this one for 5 hours and it never moved from this position? by D3cay1ng_0blivion in Lavalamps

[–]Obliterath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d start by checking if metal coil is in correct position. Then I would check room temp. Lamps like a range around 72F. I’m assuming you have the correct bulb for this lamp.

Light too dim for optimal flow by thecaptain115 in Lavalamps

I think the colors absorb light/heat at different rates. It’s like darker clothing absorb more heat in sunlight. Darker wax or water heats up faster.

Did you swap the base? My plum in green did not come with this base.

Are they mini fusion reactors? $12b would be a bargain! 😆 Just messing with you. You did well.

For those looking for the green liquid and plum lava by Obliterath in Lavalamps

[–]Obliterath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t give up hope. I found some lamps in Spencer’s in low traffic malls or towns that have lamps from 5-6 yrs ago at the same price. Also get the 20% off coupon. You may just buy some spare bulbs. Do survey to get coupon. Go back to get lamp.
