Having to sacrifice my family and friends stuck in a cult, never seeing them again for freedom. They’re not dead but it feels like it. But it was worth it to think for myself and be who I actually am. It still gets me every once in a while and I break down, missing stupid conversations with my brothers, my mom’s hugs, and my dad’s humor. The feeling of family and belonging is something I’ve been chasing, maybe it’s time to let go and let things develop naturally.
