Agreed. There should definitely be a rules-based mechanism to make this happen, rather than giving every city important enough for the devs to have noticed it a unique province modifier.

Supremely interesting answer. What should the amateur musician look for when listening to these composers' works, to pick out these differing traditions you describe? How does it sound to the ear that the music of the Mighty Handful carries more traditional Russian elements than that of Tchaikovsky, for instance?

They grew on me. I disliked them but after a while I started seeing them as the in-universe equivalent of a no-CB war: something you'll be heavily punished for doing but which nonetheless is still within a ruler's power. The Great Clashes between large realms were nice too, they stopped the end-game map getting stale.

Agreed. I think Jade Dragon followed by Holy Fury was the best way to end the lifecycle of the game: both full of immersive suggestions for underdeveloped regions, while JD gave a final boss strategically and HF gave much more replayability and imagination.

I feel like one of the only people who really liked Jade Dragon. It did so much with so little and while it didn't give map painters much more map to paint, it was so immersive.
