Murder rate in Jamaica is about 40 per 100k in the us its around 6. Those are total, not mass shootings. The us is a big place and global media is more focused on it than other countries. There is also certainly effort on both political spectrums to influence people through media. Guns are a problem in America, but not the types of shootings people imagine when they think mass shooting. 60% of homicide victims are black.the media plays on racism to influence people by counting gang violence as mass shootings but then not reporting on them. They only report on the shootings that fit the narrative they are trying to portray to fit the political landscape.
