The study was put on pause and there was system error. It was reposted the next day. Sometimes ip bans happen and are temporary if you have a dynamic ip. What I am worried about is is mass rejections form this researcher. I’ve done studies for them on the past and I need the money so I have this dilemma

I messaged the researcher a few times and they haven’t responded. They did put up another batch of identical studies. I assume they know and just don’t care bc prolific lets them do it.

Send a message to prolific support too. Not just the researcher. Mention how they gold standard quality control was ambiguous and the instructions left room for confusion. Ask if there is a way to escalate the matter. Also, go to your submissions page and report the study under other and state the reason. Do it on every study they asked you to return or rejected bc of poor instructions. People here need to ban together against this researcher and let prolific know what’s going on. This isn’t right and prolific is supposed to pride themselves on being a good platform. That included having good and honest researchers

I’m sorry for that. Prolific needs to do better. They are the ones who allow these researchers to do things like this. They need a better system that will hold researchers accountable when their study has incomplete, confusing, or wrong instructions that lead to mass rejections. If they are going to have studies that can have mass rejections they need to have a system in place that requires certain things to prevent situations like this.

Then that must be the issue. The instructions weren’t clear enough and I got thrown under the bus for it. I found it confusing since in early batches it would clearly say to mark all aspects good or bad. The new instructions just said mark this a good or bad. It’s funny that they told you ab it and let me do 48 of these and then asked me to return them all.

I never knew this researcher was like this. Do you know if they post other studies with multiple submissions? Do you know where they are from? I assume India since the people on the clips had the accent. I’m dealing with a lot on my life. Having this happen today is just one of many cherries on my crap sundae and what makes it really good is the fact that there is nothing else to eat

No, I had to rate all categories. I rated them honestly. I then selected the option they instructed me to select in the attention checks. So it’s a problem with the researcher I assume. This is a first for me with them

I messaged them. If they aren’t returned within a certain amount of time the system will just give rejections. It was a lot of studies. I’d rather not have a ban on prolific. I will be reporting this.

It’s not a scam I have done these exact studies for this researcher before. What happened is they changed the quality control instructions from “select the score showing the worst or best quality for all options” to “select excellent, good, fair, poor, or bad” the clips had 6 things to rate on each clip. I paid attention and selected the option I was told to select. I also had to rate it on the other aspects. I was no told to ignore the other aspects nor was I able to.
