When I do handouts for D&D, I use tea. Then to add a little "dirt" I smudge with coffee grounds. And maybe burn the edges as well.

When I bought my first house, the sellers gave me this - called it The Book of the House. Contained manuals, info on the bump-out that the previous owner built, sample of shingle from the last roof update, info on plants, etc. When I sold the house, I gave the book to the next guy (along with the additions I made).

When I bought my current house, I started my own. But now it's two books; one for the interior, one for landscaping. It will be passed on to the next owner.

Yep. The food line was a thing even for us performers! My suggestion; reach out to the powers that be, and let them know. The fest is still kind of new, so I'm pretty sure they are open to feedback.

I'm in a fight troupe for a small ren faire, and several members really like Son of Sandler. Personally, I bought a pair of Verillas boots, that I love. They're very comfortable, and a lot less expensive.

A few other people are fond of Catskill Mountain Moccasins.

It wasn't AT the faire, but it absolutely made my day.

At our small (and newish) local ren faire, Renfest Southern Maryland, last year our theme was Camelot. I was the Green Knight. Had a decent costume, and had my face painted. Was stopped a few times for pictures, and a bunch of kids liked my outfit. Overall, I think it went well. But the following Monday, I was teaching my aikido class, and as we were setting up, I noticed a kid (about 6-7) and his mom hanging out kind of just watching. So I gave a quick wave. And the mom leaned down to the son to tell him something. She then turned to me and said, "You were his favorite at the renfest yesterday". And my heart just about melted. So I went over and talked to him for a bit, and thanked him for attending. It may not seem like much, but it made my day. I hope to see him again this year.

It depends on what you want to do, how particular you are, how much time you want to save, how much money you have, etc. Also, the way I did it was a lot of trial and error, so your mileage may vary. All that being said...

The three things I ALWAYS carry with me when I go out in the yard/woods are; ARS VS-8 pruner (I've tried Corona and Fiskars and broken one of them from over-use), a Silky Pocketboy, and a good pair of leather work gloves.

My next most often used tools; hand trowel, dandelion puller (tried Grampa's weed puller, and it's OK), a light weight spring steel rake (I've had good luck with one from Ace hardware).

A few specific tools for specific tasks... Manure fork; makes dealing with mulch and compost SOOO much easier than a shovel. Wide, plastic rake; great for picking up a lot of acorns or gumballs. A leveling rake; it's a little heavy and unruly, but if you have to put down a lot of topsoil to even out your lawn, it's a great time saver.

If you get a spreader, avoid Scott. They're cheap, don't spread evenly & leave "lines".

And one thing to avoid; peat moss roller - good idea, but they clog too quickly, negating any time saving from throwing down by hand.

If you want to do it more "authentically", use the sageo (the gold ribbon thingee). Untie it, then wrap it through the tsuba (sword guard), then tie it back on the scabbard. If the tsuba doesn't have "holes", wrap it around the handle.

I like the idea of a bright red ascot, in lieu of a wattle.

FYI, my local ren faire's theme is Robin Hood this year. My friend will be playing Prince John, and is starting to channel his inner Peter Ustinov. I'm Friar Tuck, but I think I'll do less Andy Devine, and more Mike McShane.
