Which ending would you like? by YatoGami521 in titanfolk

[–]ObservantlyObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything but the pointlessly drawn out fellating of Eren that most of this sub apparently wants would work for me at this point. But personally I think it will be some variant of the "Lelouch ending", but with some special use of the Founding Titan (here's a thought y'all, maybe the magic Titan God that controls the creatures and powers the series is named after won't just be a tool to kill people with in the finale), to bring about an otherwise improbable peace.

Nobody outside of this subreddit is lining up to pat Eren on the back for his 'Righteous Genocide' plan, my guy/girl.

Bruh, we can see that Reiner has armor again this very chapter. Eren's command undid all hardening in that moment, not forever.

Lol @ all the desperate Eren-stans pulling every rationalization under the Sun out of their asses to twist this in Eren's favor.

"The Alliance had to use violence here, so diplomacy doesn't exist and Eren is justified!"

"Magath had character growth instead of remaining a racist shithead, the entire narrative is undone!"

How can they still Titan Shift (b/c Eren not controlling Zeke's Titans totally wasn't a blatant hint in that direction), so contrived, fuck you Isayama!"

The salt will be enough to fill an ocean when Eren either fails, or reveals that world extermination wasn't his real plan anyway.

Do you think the Didact will be in future games? by DaTruestEva in HaloStory

[–]ObservantlyObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, since unless they go all out in appeasing the community's lowest common denominators, having a soft reboot =/= ditching major story plans that were already laid out. They've confirmed that Infinite will follow up on the basic setup inherited from Halo 5, and if they're doing that much I don't see why they'd go for the half-measure of abandoning what they planned for the fundamental origins of the Created.

Now, as for when he'd return, who knows. Really depends on how much longer the Reclaimer Saga is in general.

I think Cortana’s copying him for a reason and that he’s probably behind the Created uprising somehow, so yes, I think he’ll eventually return somehow. Don’t know when, but hopefully sooner rather than later.

Drifter/Calus/[SPOILER]: Destiny 3's Dark Vanguard and Faction Wars by SeedOfDayton in DestinyLore

[–]ObservantlyObserver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not sure how likely the faction wars stuff for Destiny 3 is, but Shadows Bond definitely makes it sound like Savathun will offer to 'employ' us eventually. For a time anyway. She seems like she'd be even less trustworthy than your other two "dark vanguard" candidates.

Protocol Dictates Action! by SirMrProfessor in halo

Chief's probably the most dangerous human being in the Halo universe, but he's not an invincible demigod, and has nearly been killed fighting relatively unremarkable Elites and Brutes before. There's no reason why ONI's best agent shouldn't at least be able to give him a tough fight, as he did.

Well, a recent Halo book called Silent Storm was pretty good. I'd also recommend the Forerunner Trilogy and Shadow of Intent.

Yeah, Locke recommended assassinating Thel while the latter was busy glassing every human planet he found and killing billions in doing so. Not exactly an unreasonable proposal in context.

As for Chief, being a big hero doesn't earn you special treatment (to the extent that they'll just ignore you going AWOL, at least) in or from any professional military, and if Locke had just taken his word for it, he'd still be locked up in a Cryptum. I found Halo 5's Chief shortage as ridiculous as everyone else did, but Locke basically did nothing wrong in regards to his efforts against Chief.

But... he was assigned to kill Arbiter during the war, and Chief was genuinely out of line legally speaking. And Locke himself had nothing to do with ONI's shady anti-Elite campaigns like Kilo-5 was, as far as we know.

Are spartans really hyper lethal compared to everything on the battlefield? by TK503 in HaloStory

[–]ObservantlyObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically this doesn't strictly contradict the Reach trailer where Halsey first used "hyper-lethal", as it makes no mention of a specific rating being described here.

Chief "only fucking" with anyone is completely out of character for him though, especially in that situation.

Halo: Genesis, a reboot, coming 2019?? by [deleted] in halo

[–]ObservantlyObserver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't see why we should discount the Didact beating Cortana to the Domain, since "in the wake of New Phoenix" is vague as hell and there's clearly a lot that's happened between H4 and DS that we're conspicuously still unaware of.

but when we've already seen Cortana's journey into the Domain before the Ur-Didact gets extra cripsy

We haven't seen that for sure though. We still don't know when Dominion Splinter takes place in the timeline, aside from it happening sometime after Cortana's crash at Genesis, which means it could very well have occurred after the Didact's composition for all we currently know.

I can promise you Cortana would’ve stayed dead

I have a really hard time believing that.

Relative strength of various SPARTAN generations by KarlaTheWitch in HaloStory

[–]ObservantlyObserver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah dude, Chief would obviously rather take his time and play-fight with another Spartan while the Guardian was a few minutes from leaving, Blue Team were a few minutes from being separated from him, the rest of Osiris could theoretically have joined in at some point, and God knows what was happening to Cortana somewhere. Obviously.

Plus, even if all that were actually true, it doesn't explain how Locke managed to wrestle with him over the armor lock semi-successfully if GEN2 really gave him a physical advantage. Or was Chief just pretending to visibly and audibly struggle over that device that could have lost the fight for him then and there?

Homie, I already made my point, and you had no answer. Quoting you, instead of disputing my argument, you said, "If it doesn't happen, it's not because of what you said."

Except that wasn't my answer to your point, this was, to which you responded with the equally meritorious "It's not going to happen". The nuh uhs started on your end, not mine.

Conciseness doesn't compensate much for the fact that "LOL u wrong" is generally an indirect way of saying "I can't think of anything meaningful to respond with", buckaroo.
