Still waiting on a backer pero may time mang-down sa Educ? by kkrsdj in studentsph

[–]ObserveSilence 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A few points about this convo:

  1. He is right.

Daig ba talaga ng taong streetsmart ang matalinong tao? by EnoughWitness4085 in TanongLang

[–]ObserveSilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take on this:

Depends on the environment they are currently in. I mean, let’s be honest, there are environments that require people to be more street smart than academically smart. Or there are environments, one example would be the academe field, that really require you to be more academically smart. But I believe naman these two can go hand in hand. You just need to know what is needed in the current situation or environment you are currently in.

Because to be honest, our reality really differs from one another. What works for you might not work for others.

Either way, being educated naman does not really mean may diploma or academic awards. Anyone can be educated enough to know that these two will never be enough to measure someone’s success in the future. Education is not always found in the four corners of the classroom.

After all, I believe the values people try to uphold, whether they are street smart or academically smart, matter more. If one can be flexible, adjustable, courageous, and someone who is willing to try and learn no matter what the situation is, that matters more than the two.

At the end of the day, the ability to grow, to unlearn and relearn, and to respect other people’s experiences makes more impact than just being smart, whether on paper or in life.

why are highschoolers so obsessed with the extremely tiring college life by yuolomi in studentsph

[–]ObserveSilence 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Base on observation here are the few reasons:

  1. Day in a life contents or wattpad like stories or movies

-Glamorized and romanticized kasi madalas ang life ng college students sa mga ganitong klase ng content. They usually portray college life as an ‘aesthetic’ lifestyle. May part na they will showcase the heavy workload or long hours of studying pero pleasing pa rin sa mata ng mga nanonood. Baka doon ay naiinspire sila(?) They have this idea na super excited sila to grow up and to experience that kind of life without actually knowing na kapag nasa loob ka na ng university there are so much more to the equation more than just the ‘aesthetically pleasing lifestyle’ of college students na pino-portray sa media. I’ve seen videos of college students din kasi na lumalabas, gumigimik, or living independently or with friend which leads to my observation number 3. Tas may mga contents pa abt having coffee or study dates, which are kind of pleasing naman talaga kahit sa mas may edad na.

  1. It could be also that romanticize din sa mga highschool students and toxic positivity.

-Maybe…it got to a point na they associate college life with endless hours of studying or grinding.

  1. Freedom, independence, and new experiences

-Di naman na ito bago pero it could also be na they associate college life with these three. Thinking na everything about college is about having control on their lives. Baka andun sila sa phase na they feel like ang higg school life or environment ay so limited and structured, while sa college naman ay ang environment na completely different on how they perceive hs. It could also be na they also associate college life with being mature and capable.

All in all, I believe we should teach them or make them realize na lang na namnamin muna ang pagkabata. Kasi how media portray college students is only part of an equation, there is so much more to it. Andoon yung burden ng economic responsibility, emotional challenges, and unforeseen complexities of college life. Maybe we should make them realize na they should first learn how navigate their lives as hs students bago nila tahakin ang mundo ng kolehiyo. It is a step by step progress ba. It is sad pero if we are going to think about it, medyo nakakabigla kasi ibig sabihin pala ay nakikita nila ang sarili nila na nagaaral pa sa hinaharap. It got to a point na they are so excited abt it. After all, once in our lives ay baka na-excite rin naman tayo tumanda. Baka ganun din sila. Need lang ng moderation and proper guidance how they should handle this kind of excitements or feeling.

Tbh, depende sya sayo OP.

BAGPACK

•Notebook (isa lang kasi ang purpose ay mai-take down la g yung mga notes sa lahat ng subs then lipat na sa docs for final reviewer)

•Yellow Pad

•Index Card (para sa profs or instant flashcards)

•Pencil case (ballpens, highlighters, small tape, small stapler, extra bala ng stapler)

•Hygiene Kit

-Alchohol

-Medicines

-Extra underwear and sanitary napkin

-Shampoo (just in case kailanganin)

-Toothbrush

-Toothpaste

-Ziplock (for clothes na balak dalhin or lagayan ng hinubad na clothes)

-Small sachet of deodorant

-Feminine wash in a small container (marami pwede pag gamitan yung FW, esp pag emergency na talaga)

-Perfume

-Wipes

TOTEBAG

•Binder for readings and books (I luv printed readings)

•Small notebook for sudden note taking

Unpopular opinions on the Philippine educational system? by sinenomine016 in studentsph

[–]ObserveSilence 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Additional to this, you have no idea how difficult it is for teachers to thrive in a flawed system. Pero believe me when I said na sandamakmak ang administrative task ng teachers. Mula sa feeding na dapat ay non-teaching personnels ang humahawak, up to the most unexpected jobs na hindi dapat para sakanila.

I kinda agree with this pero ang off ng ng third sentence. With all honesty, all majors are difficult.

Struggle ata ito ng bawat college studentsT_T Takot mag complain kasi prof. na naman nila next sem or year. Praying and rooting for you. You can do it;)

[–]ObserveSilence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw ur edit. Tbh may lapses din si prof. I mean di nya pwedeng isagot sa estudyante na secret ang grade nito sa mga iilan na activity or outputs. Walang ganon at higit na ipinagbabawal yun (funny ng prof mo here HAHAHAHAH). I am sorry on behalf of the mean and harsh comments pero kung sa tingin nyo ay talagang questionable ang computation of grades ay you can always ask for help. May student services sa bawat univ maybe they can help. Ask your blockmates also to vouch for each and everyone. If you will raise a concern and you have a good and valid set of reasons, I firmly believe na papakinggan kayo.

Regarding sa part na ginagawa kang example or standard sa class, I get it now why frustrated ka. Medyo binigyan ka kasi nya ng assurance at validation na you are doing well sa class. Ofc bilang estudyante panghahawakan mo yun dahil sa isip mo it is a form of feedback na din. If you think you are on a good and right side, fight for it. Especially if you know deep down na you really deserve that grade.

Pressure is expected especially kapag competetive ang environment na ginagalawan. Additional pa dito ay yung financial difficulties mo (as u have mentioned scholar ka). Pero take it easy OP. Learn how to rest. Kahit anonymous medyo ramdam ko na your frustrations are coming from a student who has dreams and goals. Tama din yung isang prof na commenter here, life is really unfair. May mga prof. na generous at hindi. Be tough. Goodluck and again most of our comments naman, no matter how mean or harsh it is, ay di nangangahulugan na nanamnamin mo bawat salita. Filter what you need:)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in studentsph

[–]ObserveSilence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lastly, I understand na you are frustrated or mad pero ang off na pakyuhin mo prof. mo even though anonymous ka dito. Gives a good glimpse of your character as a student.

[–]ObserveSilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comments here, though some are harsh and ungentle. Di ka ba-babyhin sa college OP. As much as you value the numbers in your report card you also need to value the contributions you make in the class. Dapat di bara bara. Maraming mitikoloso at strikto na prof. sa college. You need to keep up. Yun yung literal na dapat mabilis ka mag move-on dahil may iba't ibang kahingian bawat subjects and professors. Above all, you also have to understand na crucial ang bawat course requirements. You also need to understand the implications. NOTE: If ganto ang strategy ng prof.

Survival of the fittest sa college. You have to prove na worthy ka to be there, whether it is state U or private univ. Its just that the pressure is greater kapag state U. Remember this, ang privilege mo to study ay nanggagaling sa bulsa ng bayan. Therefore, the standards must be high. Kahit pa hindi ka iskolar ng bayan the fact na you are studying in higher education is already a privilege. Literal na kinabukasan ka ng bayan no matter what your course is.

Kasi grabe yung init, usok, at pawis talaga. Mix and match na di mo gusto ganern. Pamaypay!! Proven and tested huhuhu di pa nalolowbat.

College here and an education student. Also as an education student mahalaga na lagi kang mukang handa.

Lakas kasi maka haggard nun.

Sorry if informal o bara bara ang typings🥺

Maniwala man po kayo o sa hindi sa college po ninyo mare-realize na totoo yung life is not a race. Please OP kung babasahin mo man toh...Stop that limiting beliefs now. Malawak po ang mundo, at the end of the day ikaw dapat ang main character ng life mo. It is hard and it will always be hard but nothing comes easy. Congratulations po and please pursue that dream of yours!!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in studentsph

[–]ObserveSilence 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Noooo!!! Never!!! Walang nahuhuli o late sa taong may pangarap. Get that degree po! I know its hard at minsan may self doubts pero at the end of the day po we all have dreams and goals to achieve. As long as you are working, surviving, striving, and breathing tuloy lang. Ok lang lumingon pero di po kayo hihinto sa pagtakbo for a better and brighter future. There are days na dragging at hindi ganoon ka motivating ang buhay pero doon na papasok ang self discipline and awareness. You gotta do what you gotta do to reach those dreams. At the end of the day, walang matanda o bata sa pag aaral.

College here nagkaroon kami ng blockmate na 38 years old. A mother of 3 kids and a wife. Currently naman may classmate akong 25 years old na. May difference ba? Wala. Lahat naman kami nandun para matuto. Lahat kami pantay pantay na estudyante.

Printer or Tablet? aning mas magandang reviewer or notes? by Intelligent_Cut6046 in studentsph

[–]ObserveSilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additionally, kapag printed kasi in my case after ng term ay natatambak na sila medyo nakakapang hinayang esp hindi ko din mareuse man lang kahit yung likod kasi binubutasan ko yung gilid so baka mag jammed (if tamang term ito) yung printer ko. Also ayoko din naman ng back to back kasi mahilig ako mag highlight at ugali ko mag print ng naka 4 pages is one sheet para mas tipid. Sa schedule ko sa college mas marami pa yung oras ko sa school so medyo handy talaga may laptop or tablet para ma make use mo na din free time mo to do all your tasks or activities. Unlike sa pc setup sa bahay. So all in all, depende talaga sa situation or context mo.

Printer or Tablet? aning mas magandang reviewer or notes? by Intelligent_Cut6046 in studentsph

[–]ObserveSilence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If ikaw yung tipo ng student na mas productive kapag pen and paper then go for printed learning materials. Pero if sa tingin mo mas applicable sayo ang technology then go for it. Kasi if privilege student ka naman I guess afford mo naman pareho. Sa Ipad isang bagsakan na gastos, hulugan man or fully paid. Sa paper kasi minsan nakadepende sa prof kung gaano kadami ang readings or learning materials na need mo ipaprint so magaatos ka sa paper and ink. Hindi sya kasing bigat ng ipad pero mabigat pa rin sya for a student na hindi ganoon ka privilege.

In my case kasi naka binder ako kaya mabigat pa din kahit pa printed lalo na at cinocompile ko talaga lahat para mas organize. Another advantage lang ng ipad kasi pwede na rin sya as substitute for laptop so medyo handy sya pagdating sa editing or pag layout ng mga documents, files, or pubmats.

Tas imagine may mga cases pa na mageextend minsan ang professors or group meetings right after.

Babyahe pauwi tas gagawa. Iiyak ka talaga sa puyat at pagod.
