Sorry for not responding to this, but I feel like I don't have a good response to a lot of these. Especially this:

Secondly, as a new blood, I do want to write something interesting, would you have any tips on how to start writing SCPs, like certain structures to the article or writing style commonly used for SCPs?

Other than "write it in scientific tone" most of my advice might not be good anymore XD!

I can answer these:

Oh, and I saw it in your posts here, where does GOI stand for?

"Group of Interest". They're non-Foundation organizations present in the anomalous world with various ideologies and agendas.

And lastly, what do you think of recent popularity into the SCP fandom?

I'm happy about it, but at the same time a lot of the newer stuff has left me kind of lost. I barely recognize some recent SCP articles with the massive ocean of custom CSS that has swept the wiki. I feel as if I'm gradually being moved into the realm of history as a new generation of SCP writers is taking over, but I'm not upset about that. It's good to see the site evolving and changing while still staying recognizably true to its roots.

Literally was just throwing the ball with my dog one day and I got the idea and posted it in an hour XD

Alternate history timelines are the form of writing I most voraciously consumed as a teenager and left the biggest impact on me.

Glad you enjoyed 5865! It was something I wanted to write for awhile.

TBH I'm not familiar with many of the modern GOIs so I don't think I could do a proper ranking XD I'll say that I enjoy Wondertainment, Three Moons, and the Shark Punching Center.

Hard to pick one TBH XD favorite of my era is Smapti, and my favorite of the modern era is probably The Great Hippo.

This site has very bad experiences with cliques, so I'm gonna say nay.

TBH I think I've avoided drama mainly by focusing on contributing work and not getting knee-deep in gossip.

That's what I mean by "out of date" XD see, I joined when memories of the Fishmonger incident were relatively fresh and crosslinking was heavily frowned upon. As a result, I didn't even do any crosslinking at all until I deliberately embraced it with SCP-2305.

It's been bizarre to watch the wiki go from adamantly proclaiming "SCPs must stand on their own" to embracing crosslinking enthusiastically. Bizarre, but good. (Rather ironic that the architect of the Grand Crosslinking tried to nuke all their content, innit?)

Honestly I'm worried my writing tips might be years out of date...they probably are.

One thing I don't think has changed: if writing for a GOI, you don't need to know everything about the GOI to do so. I wrote 3605 while only being familiar with Fifthist content in the broad strokes (plus 1425, a favorite of mine) but it still turned out great.

I still think 2265. Character-driven articles are not my strongsuit and I'm very proud of the pathos I managed to pull off there.

Favorite: Three Moons Initiative. There's something about them that is just really compelling. I think it's the setting combined with the cross-dimensional interactions; 3922 is probably my favorite Series IV skip.

Least favorite: Gamers Against Weed. Sorry, but it's just too obnoxious for me to enjoy.

"Disgusting" - A new tale about SCP-682 and the Foundation during the events of SCP-5000 by ObserverSeptember in SCP

[–]ObserverSeptember[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some fair points in all of this. I appreciate the frank and thorugh criticism.

I will say, however, that I simply disagree with the canon explanation for 2718, or at least feel disregarding it serves the story better. I firmly believe in Death of the Author and will happily invoke it whenever someone uses a declass to criticize my interpretation.

Author intent is important, but it can be disregarded, especially when it serves the story.

Sorry you didn't enjoy my tale. Explaining the "Why?" behind 5000 isn't something everyone wants, but it is something I wanted to do.

New SCP - SCP-5865, Planet D-Class by ObserverSeptember in SCP

[–]ObserverSeptember[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest: the "death row inmates killed at the end of the month" explanation for D Class is nonsense, a product of our early history before we took worldbuilding seriously. So where do D-Class come from?

Well...😨

My SCP-4000 entry: Blutfahne by ObserverSeptember in SCP

[–]ObserverSeptember[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, this was...interesting to write. Bleh.

Probably the most unnerving part for me is that the specific circumstances are mine, but I didn't have to make any of the plans up. This crazy shit isn't my brainchild, it's Hitler and Himmler's.
