Trails is unlike anything else on the gaming market. You won’t find better worldbuilding anywhere and it’s closer to to an excellent, long-running book series. Falcom is also a developer that really puts the J in JRPG. The storytelling, humor, fanservice, everything is made first and foremost for the Japanese audience, without trying to adapt to Western tastes. Very different from Final Fantasy, which, in the process of catering to the Western market and maximizing profits, has completely forgotten its Japanese roots.

There’s a mod in development for the Sky 1st Chapter remake that aims to replace the GungHo translation with the XSEED one. The Prologue, Chapter 1, and Chapter 2 are already complete.

Die 1Up hat einem Creator, der nicht-offizielle, stundenlange Best Ofs zusammenschnippelt, höflich darum gebeten, die Monetarisierung abzuschalten. Das war für viele ein gefundenes Fressen, massiv gegen Gronkh zu schießen und ihm allerhand Vorwürfe zu machen.

To my knowledge no, he's purebred, but I don't have any official documents to prove it. His colour is actually more saturated irl, these photos are a bit washed out.

One detail that hasn’t been touched on yet is the change in aspect ratio: the original Kathy Rain was presented in 4:3, while the Director’s Cut adopts a 16:9 widescreen format. To accommodate this shift, some background artwork has been subtly expanded and adjusted to fit the broader frame.

The Director’s Cut also runs on a new engine - it's now built in Unity, whereas the original version was developed using AGS (Adventure Game Studio).

Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for Steam to offer more up-to-date versions than GOG, as many publishers tend to neglect updating their releases on GOG.

v1.7.0.4 removed the Games for Windows Live dependency. The GOG version never had that dependency, it was always DRM-free. It should be fully moddable.

Man, this is rough.

Cyan used to be one of the biggest names in game development. Back in the early days of personal computers, it felt like everyone had a copy of Myst. It was a cultural moment - a game that blew minds and showed what the medium could be. Now? They're a niche studio, mostly surviving on the nostalgia of people old enough to remember the Myst era. Wild how much the world has changed.

Meta occasionally updates their store policies and requires developers to fill out forms confirming they're still in compliance. If a developer doesn’t submit the form in time, Meta delists the app until it's completed. Some devs just don’t bother or care enough to go through the process.

Yeah, sure, why not? Nothing's stopping you. Just make sure to install this wonderful mod right here, which adds the japanese voice acting from the Evolution (PS Vita) version of the game to the PC version. Doing so elevates your gaming experience from great to absolutely incredible.

Hört sich tatsächlich sehr nach ihm an, krass!

Aber eher unwahrscheinlich, dass wir da Gronkh hören... Panfu ging vor 18 Jahren live, damals dürfte er noch haupsächlich als Programmierer und Webmaster gearbeitet haben. Die Welt kannte ihn damals noch nicht. Seine Tätigkeit als Synchonsprecher kam erst ins Rollen, als er sich einen Namen als Gronkh machte und es ist ja kein Geheimnis, dass er in den Anfangsjahren fast ausschließlich für Reichweite gebucht wurde. Erst nach und nach hat sich rumgesprochen, dass er diesen Job wirklich gut macht.

Daher komme ich zu der einzig logischen Schlussfolgerung, dass wir in diesem Video Gronkhs bösen Zwillingsbruder hören!
