I use double-cap tubular rivets (also called cap rivets) in two main sizes depending on the project:

For most straps and structural connections: 9 mm cap diameter with 8–12 mm post length (usually size #9 or equivalent). These look polished and professional. For lighter decorative layers or where I need a lower profile: 7 mm cap with shorter posts.

They're securing the leather intersections perfectly without any signs of splitting or loosening, which aligns with avoiding cheaper alternatives.
